Sophie is now 9 months old and has been wondering where her forever home is at?  She has matured into a wonderful girl.  Sophie has watched many of her foster brothers come to her home and leave for adoption.  She has gotten along well with each of them.  Sophie loves to play and is a sweet girl.  She would do best with a dog to play with and she needs a fenced yard.  Sophie enjoys snuggling and she sleeps in bed with her foster mom every night.  Included are a few new pictures of Sophie checking out the internet to see if anyone has applied for her yet.

Sophie continues to do well here at our house. She has fully recovered from her spay and is enjoying being able to run around her yard again. Sophie had a new foster boy come into our home & she started playing with him right away. She is a great little girl. She continues to make us laugh & gets herself into spots that no one can figure out how the heck it happened. She recently got onto our patio table on the deck with no chairs in sight. She loves to play with Sandi & Kobe, running around the house & yard. Sophie will definitely need a fenced yard at her forever home.

Sophie is very smart - if the boxers gang up on her, she will run under one of chairs in the yard. The other night she scooted under the fencing we are using for our garden area. She could hide out & watch them & know that she was safe from the bigger dogs. Also, she has a good personality for a puppy.  Sophie loves nothing better than snuggling with someone in bed all night long. Cute as she is, I can not believe that someone has not picked her to take as their puppy.  Apply today to adopt Sophie!

Sophie is learning basic commands such as sit, paw, high 5, and off. She is a ball of energy and definitely needs an active family! Sophie has no problems interacting with the bigger dogs and tends to take charge. She loves to play and wrestle with her foster sister and brother.  Sophie is crate trained and housebroken. She usually sleeps in bed with her foster parents or on her doggy bed. Sophie will be spayed this week. She would love to find a forever home of her own. Apply today for Sophie!

5/17/11

Sophie is doing great in her foster home. She is currently living with both a male and female boxer, and she loves to play! Sophie is now estimated to be around 4 months old and she is up to 24 lbs! Sophie is eating well and her foster mom indicates she is now fully housebroken. Sophie is great with people and is looking for a home with a fenced yard, as she loves to run and enjoys spending time playing outside. If you can provide socialization and have the time to spend with a puppy, apply today for Sophie!

4/19/11

Sophie has settled in really well at her foster home. She is getting along great with her boxer sister, Sandi. She loves to play and she is very energetic.  Sophie would do best in a home with a young dog who can keep up with her!  Sophie's foster mom is working hard on her housebreaking. She is crated when her foster parents leave the house and she does well with that. Sophie is learning her basic commands, such as sit, watch me, off, and down. If you are interested in a fun loving puppy, apply today for Sophie!

4/9/11 -

Meet Sophie - an adorable brindle puppy estimated to be around 13-16 weeks old. She was found as a stray and we were asked to help her when we were pulling a boxer boy from the same shelter. Sophie was a lucky girl - we were able to take her into rescue because she had a foster home willing to take her in until she finds her forever home. Sophie is a boxer mix and is currently fostered with a young boxer girl. We will update her page soon with new pictures and more information as she settles into her home.

Sophie is very playful girl. She traveled well in the car and just loves getting attention from people. Puppies require a lot of work, so make sure you are committed and ready before you apply! To be considered for a puppy, you must have the time and energy to work on socialization and housebreaking. Somebody should be home enough to accommodate the needs of a puppy this age. If you are interested in adopting Sophie, apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
