Cesar recently hit the big time being accepted into the same training program, the KRAMER Foundation, that AABR Casper,(now named Woody), got into last year... AND he's getting to be fostered by Casper's, adopter!

From his new foster mom:

We are very pleased with Cesar's progress. He is a really nice dog. The most exciting progress is that Cesar discovered his "ears" today. With the use of a very low setting "tap" on an e-collar and some training I was able to "call" Cesar when he was way in the other part of the house. He "heard" me and came to find me. We then played a rousing game of hide and come find me in the house. I swear he seems like he is happier since this discovery!

From Cesar:

"I am in my new pack and settling in very well.  The management here is pretty strict and I have to sit, stay, and wait for the release command before going outside, eating, or getting in/out of the car. I am a very good student and eager to please. I have also had to prove I can behave around the other two canines in the home. Since I am doing so well  I have earned the right to be out of my crate almost all the time now. See how good I'm doing! Come on take a chance on me and I promise to love you unconditionally for the rest of my life."

Cesar is starting obedience class this week, and no doubt he will be at the top of his class in no time flat. All in all the progress he has made in the last 2 weeks is amazing!!!

Please consider this great boxer for your family.

Cesar is now with a wonderful trainer! We will update his page soon with the progress he is making.  This boy is still looking for his forever home, so apply today for Cesar.

8/29/11

Cesar is being returned to rescue to find a home that is a better match for him. He would do best in a home with another dog and with a secure, fenced yard. Cesar is great on leash and he rarely pulls at all, even when when he notices people and other pets along the way. He picks up hand signs very quickly. Cesar is in need of a foster or forever home. Apply today for Cesar!

Cesar is still seeking a foster or his forever home! Don't let the fact that he is deaf discourage you - Cesar can communicate very well! All this boy wants is love, attention, and a comfy place to call home. He is completely housebroken and crate trained. He also walks very well on a leash and follows your lead. Cesar is a very easy, quiet dog and would be happy to just settle in with you. Apply today to make Cesar a part of your family!

We had a chance to speak with Cesar's former owners to  find out more information about him.  Cesar actually lived with 3 small dogs. He got along well with all of them except one, and apparently the feeling was mutual between the two. He did well with the other two small dogs in the home. Cesar also grew up with another boxer who passed last year and Cesar had a male dog friend at his owner's work that he would play with all the time. Cesar does like other dogs and has lived and socialized with them before. Cesar is also crate trained and housebroken! Poor Cesar is in a kennel now and will not mess in his kennel - he will hold it until he is let out. Cesar needs a foster home as he is obviously more comfortable in a home environment.  He needs to get back on a normal schedule with his bathroom breaks. Cesar does know some commands in sign language such as sit, stay, and good boy. He is a loyal friend and oh so cute. AABR saved Cesar in the nick of time from the shelter and now all he needs is a foster or forever home. Please consider Cesar!

We've tested Cesar with other dogs and he is fine.  His surrender came when two households combined, and one of the other dogs was known to have issues with other dogs.  This left poor Cesar without a home.

5/28/11

Cesar was pulled from the shelter just in time!  He has not found a foster home yet, so is currently in a kennel.  We have included some new pictures.  Please offer to foster or adopt this sweet boy!

5/25/11 -

Cesar is a 5 yr old deaf boxer boy who was surrendered to the shelter because he didn't get along with the other dog in the home. Cesar will be re-evaluated at the shelter to see how he seems with other animals. For right now, he needs a home with no other animals or someone that is experienced and can socialize him.  He is a sweet boy and very smart! He know hand signals and was well cared for. Cesar is already neutered too! The shelter is full and there is no room for him to stay. He is in danger of being put to sleep.  If you can foster or are interested in adopting Cesar, contact us today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
