Nick was my first rescue dog, and he is missed every day. He was truly a mama's boy, a protector, and total mush at the same time. I am so grateful Dawn gave him another chance at life.

Nick is a lovebug and he is still waiting for his forever home. Nick is totally housebroken and fully vetted. He is the first foster I have had in the past 17 yrs that does not even try to get on the furniture or beds. He loves sitting on his dog bed and sleeps next to my bed on a bed on the floor with my dogs looking down on him. He is so good in the home. Nick is easy to crate and quiet in the home. He is a good watch dog, but only barks if someone is at the door or if he hears a noise outside. Apply today if you are interested in adopting Nick!

Nick is doing great in his foster home. He is super sweet and loves everyone he meets. He never tries to get on the bed or on furniture, a rarity with this breed. Nick sleeps on a bed next to my bed all night and doesn't make a peep. Nick is great around my kids and their friends. He is used to children over 8 years of age. I spoke to his original owner, who told me Nick also lived with another unneutered male dog and got along well with other dogs. In his first home, he also lived with 2 cats for over two years until the original owner gave them away. He hasn't lived with cats in awhile, but he said he never tried to hurt one. Nicky only tried to play with them.

Nick wants to fit in and have a home. He loves spending time outside in our fenced yard. He lays in the sun and relaxes. He is a good watch dog and barks when he hears someone at the door, but always greets them in a friendly manner and his tail starts wagging when he knows its ok.

Nick is doing well in my home. He is learning how to navigate a home with 4 other dogs. Nick is totally housebroken and walks well on a leash. He enjoyed the late night walk with 2 of our other dogs last night. Nick is a smaller boy, only weighing around 50-52 lbs. He has a docked tail and natural ears that stand up like a French Bulldogs when he is curious about something. He is doing well after his neuter surgery. Nick has also been microchipped and put on heartworm preventative.

When I leave the house, Nick does well in the crate. During the night, he sleeps on a dog bed on the floor in my bedroom and seems to like it there. Nick likes everyone he meets and greets them with a happy wiggle. He loves my kids, ages 13 and up. He is eating well and I am feeding him a bit more as he could gain a pound or two.

Nick is a very sweet boy who is just looking to fit in and feel secure. The drop off at a shelter has him rattled. There were over 90 dogs out and about there with him. He is very quiet in the house, but will follow my dogs barking lead when they hear something. He is slowly acclimating back into home life. This sweet boy deserves a loving home to call his own.

6/8/11 -

Nick was found tied to a beam by one of the buildings at the shelter. His owner did call later and gave some information about him. Nick is a 3 year old boy who gets along well with other dogs. He was just neutered and brought up to date on all vet care. Nick arrived at his foster home yesterday and he did well with the introductions to the other dogs. His foster mom will post more information as she gets to know him better.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
