Carla was my beautiful Rottweiler who was my boxer's sister and best friend (Pauly, aka Marty, adopted from AABR in 2005). They are both gone now and in heaven together. She was the sweetest dog for 11 years and loved every dog and person she met. She is very missed.

Carla is being returned to the kennel and is in urgent need of a new foster home, or better yet - a forever home!  She is looking for a quiet home with a fenced yard.  Carla is wonderful in her crate, but does need work with her housetraining.  She is a shy and reserved girl who will be very stressed at a boarding kennel.  Please apply today for Carla!

Carla came to AABR scared and scarred. It took her a few days to come around, but she is now doing the "boxer wiggle" and gets a big smile on her face to see us.  She also just gave me her first kiss the other day!  This is probably the first time this girl has ever lived in a house and she is doing well adjusting to her new environment. Everything is so new to her, so she is still a little scared to try new things. It was difficult at first to get her to come down the stairs, but she is doing it all on her own now and she looks so proud when she finally makes it all the way down!

Carla does very well in her crate - no barking, whining, or accidents in there. She also does well with other dogs. Carla is currently living with two other dogs around her age. She did have an opportunity to meet two cats and paid no mind to either one of them.

Carla is a very mild mannered pup and is eager to please. She doesn't jump on any of our guests in the house and hasn't barked at anything! She walks very well on the leash, but she still needs some time to get used to being outside. Carla would benefit from an experienced dog owner and needs a patient person who will work with acclimating her to this new life. She just wants someone to give her a chance to warm up and for you to show her what love really is.  Please consider adopting Carla and giving her a chance to finally call a place her home.

7/30/11 -

Carla is a young female boxer who was found as a stray. She appears to have been used for breeding.  Carla is in a temporary foster home with other dogs and cats. She does great with the other dogs and is acclimating to the cats. She will be spayed soon and will then need a foster home to go to so we can learn more about her. Apply today for Carla!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
