Update -Daisy is now in her new foster home and has already made herself right at home. She is getting along just fine and has just started to initiate play with her foster brother, Oscar, who is 8. Daisy has got to be one of the sweetest and most gentle girls we've had the pleasure to foster. She constantly wants to be near you and will follow you wherever you go.

We have crated Daisy and she does go in just fine and did well in there. She loves to go for rides and walks, She has greeted everyone that has come into the house with a big boxer wiggle and a happy to see you attitude.  She can't get enough of your attention at times and loves any attention she gets from anyone.

We were watching the Olympics and got a little excited in our cheering and it scared her a little. She also is not fond of thunder, nothing bad. The best thing is to not reward her fear by coddling her when the thunder happens. That tells her that there is nothing to be afraid of.

She wont be here long ..Best to apply for this perfect dog quickly as she's a real catch...

Daisy, now 6, and Blitz, now 9, (AKA Diamond) are on their way back into rescue due to a divorce in their family.  Their new home has cats, and although Blitz is not doing badly with them, Daisy has not been tried with them and is currently in a kennel.  It would be great if they could stick together, but that's more than we could usually hope for when a pair comes into rescue.  If per chance you have a home and a heart big enough for two wonderful boxers, maybe you could be their "real" forever home!

8/21/11

Daisy arrived at her new foster home - now becoming her forever home - on Saturday, 8/13/11. Such a friendly, loving girl she is too! Her wagging tail keeps her in constant happy-Boxer motion. She knows her name and comes when called. We're working on wait, sit, and down at the moment. Good news: she's pretty-well housebroken in just a few days. She seems really bright. She joins Blitz who has been here for over two years now, and has been missing Leah (RIP 6/14/11). Daisy loves to go for her daily walk beside Blitz. She caught on quickly how to walk with us without pulling or bolting off to investigate new things. I think Blitz is setting the example, and she's following his lead. Daisy is happy to sleep in her own bed beside Blitz. She's been getting her rest this week, and starting to become more playful. Toys are still foreign to her, but she's taking an interest in them a bit. She even has a little "scamper" game she started today ... scampering from place to place on my office carpet.

8/1/11 -

Daisy is a 5 year old brindle female who was surrendered to AABR from a puppy mill. She had been allowed to run free on the farm. The children at the farm were very attached to her and sad to see her go. Daisy did not have any puppies for the farmers, though, so was given to rescue.

Daisy is in a temporary foster home with three other boxers and is doing great with them! She seems to do well in a crate, but will need some work on her housebreaking. Daisy walks well on leash. This sweet girl deserves a forever family where she will be loved and kept indoors. She is a very happy girl and has been a sweetheart with everybody that she has met. She loves to be near people and enjoys lots of snuggles. Daisy is full of boxer wiggles and kisses. Apply today to foster or adopt Daisy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
