Bogart is still waiting for his forever home.  He has been such a joy to have around.  Bogart gets along well with the other dogs, both male and female.  He still is not fond of the cats, but listens when I call him away from the baby gate that separates them.  Bogart does great in the house and is uncrated if we have to go out.  He loves to lay in the garden in the sun.  Bogart is wonderful with my husband and teenage son, but spends his resting time laying with his head in my lap.

12/27/11

Bogart is doing great. He gets along well with all of the other dogs in his foster home, both male and female. Bogart is still fascinated by the cats, but not aggressive with them. He adores the teenager he lives with. Bogart likes to climb on you and give you kisses. Don't let his gray face fool you! He is playful and energetic - Bogart loves to play with the three year old boxer and keeps up well with her. He does fine with free run in the house when alone. Bogart is a great dog and he listens well to commands. A family will be very lucky to adopt this wonderful boy!

9/22/11

Bogart spent a week in Maryland with a temporary foster until coming here to our foster home in Pennsylvania.  Bogart is doing very well with my three other boxers, male and female.  He walks extremely well on leash. Bogart does show some interest in my cats, who live upstairs, but has displayed absolutely no aggression to them.  He is completely housetrained.  Bogart loves my 16 yr old son.  He likes to jump up and give kisses, so older kids would probably be best. Bogart loves to play with his toys. He will go in a crate with help, but isn't happy about being in there -so I think he would do well with someone who has time to spend with him. He is a very sweet dog and listens well to commands.  Apply today to adopt sweet Bogart!

9/13/11

Bogart has arrived at his temporary foster home, and what a sweet boy he is!  Bogart just loves to give kisses.  He enjoys attention and is very sweet with people.  Bogart appears to be housebroken.  He will be moving to his foster home soon, where he will be living with three other boxers.  We will update his page once his new foster mom gets to know him better.

9/3/11 -

Bogart was found as a stray about a month ago. The family kept him and placed an ad, trying to locate his owner - but nobody came forward to claim this senior boy. Bogart was brought to the shelter today and they contacted our rescue to help. Bogart is already neutered and weighs around 75 lbs. The family that had him temporarily indicated that he got along great with their children and their blue heeler. New pictures will be posted soon.  Bogart is in urgent need of a foster home so we can get this boy out of the shelter. Apply today to foster or adopt Bogart!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
