9/6/12 Mya is an
awesome girl! After months in the kennel waiting for a foster, Mya spent
some time at a temporary foster home. She did great there and was a very
sweet girl. Mya loves people, especially children. She loves to snuggle, go
for walks, but most of all...Mya loves to play fetch. Her favorite is a
Frisbee, but a ball will do just fine too. She will catch the ball for as
long as you want to throw it. She brings it right back and hopes you throw
it again. Mya is totally housebroken, eats well, and is not destructive at
all when left by herself. She is literally AWESOME!
Mya has recently moved from her temporary foster into a regular foster
home. Her new foster family will provide an update soon, but in the meantime
-Mya is still looking for a forever home. She would prefer a home with a
fenced yard. Mya would also do best in a home without any other dogs or
cats. She is really looking for a home with some boxer or other bully
breed experience. Please consider adopting this sweet girl today!

The
volunteers that visit Mya at the kennel indicate that she is always so happy
to see them. She gets to play with a Frisbee now, which she absolutely
loves! Mya has a lot of fun with it and easily gives it up so it can
be thrown again. Included are two new pictures!

Mya had
the chance to attend another AABR adoption event over the weekend. She
really enjoyed her time out of the kennel. Mya just soaked up the attention
from visitors at the event and everyone who met her commented on what a
wonderfully sweet girl she was. Mya even got to meet AABR alumni Taz, a
senior boxer boy. Mya loves playing Frisbee with the volunteers that spend
time with her in the play yard at the kennel. Please offer to foster
or adopt this beautiful girl.

Mya
attended one of
AABR's adoption
events this morning and she did really well! She enjoyed her day out
of the kennel and even got to go hiking with AABR available dog, Farley
after the event. She does need some work on leash, but Mya is very
eager to please. With proper introductions, we feel Mya could go into
a home with an easygoing male boxer. She would also do well in a home
as an only dog. Mya does need a secure, fenced yard to run and play
in. Please help us get Mya out of the kennel and back into a home!

Our dear,
sweet Mya..... what can I even say........... Mya and her daughter came into
rescue in early October. Her daughter, Chloe, was adopted quickly and Mya
has been alone in a kennel for five full months! Why? I honestly
cannot understand that. She is sweet, she is cute, she has personality plus,
she loooooves people, and she enjoys car rides, walks in the park, and butt
rubs............all the things she can rarely have because she in confined
in a boarding kennel.
Mya was accustomed to living in a home - she does not deserve to be
confined to a kennel for this long - no dog should! Mya's only "crime" is
that she does not care for other dogs and prefers to be an only dog in a
home. She needs a fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Is that so
awful? It doesn't seem like such a crime to me - there surely is a home out
there who would be thrilled to have such a sweet girl as part of their
family.
Mya's birthday is March 18. I think we all know what her happy
birthday wish is! Please, let's make Mya's birthday wish come true. She so
desperately deserves to have a family of her own, one who will love and care
for her and give her the wonderful life she is so deserving of. Fairy tales
do come true and everyone loves a happy ever after. Please give Mya that
happy ending.
Mya, we are wishing for your same birthday wish in hopes it will help
make it come true!!

Mya is a beauty!
Pictures do not do her justice - you must see her in person! She was very
excited to see us and even more excited to go out for a stroll. She pulled a
little bit on the leash and needs some basic training. Mya is a lot of fun
and would make the perfect playmate! If you're interested in giving Mya a
foster or forever home, apply today.

We
can't believe Mya has been in the kennel for a month and a half already!
She is very stressed there and really wants to get back into a home
environment. Mya LOVES people and has previously lived with young
children. She would just prefer to be the only dog in the home.
Please help us get this beautiful girl out of the kennel - apply today for
Mya!

Mya is
still waiting at the kennel for a foster or forever home. She needs a
home without other dogs or with an easygoing male and somebody willing to do
slow introductions. Mya just loves being around people and she is also
great with children of all ages. If you can provide a home for Mya,
please apply today so we can get this sweet girl out of the kennel!

Mya was
one of the sweetest girls I have transported. As soon as we put her in the
car, she wanted only to place her head next to you. She rode the
entire trip with her head next to our shoulders or hands, sleeping soundly.
If she could have, she probably would have curled up in our lap. Mya
is at our boarding kennel until a foster or forever home is found. Please
offer to foster Mya so we can learn more about this loving girl!
9/27/11 -
Mya and Chloe were signed over to the shelter by their owner due to
citations for running loose. Mya is Chloe's mother. She just turned 3 years
old in March. She can be very protective of Chloe with other dogs, so we are
recommending a separate home for each of them.
Mya's previous owner reports that she is a very loving dog. Mya is
housetrained and has spent time with young children (3 & 6 yrs old) and she
did great with them. Mya is reported to be a little too fascinated with cats, so
would do best in a home without them. We will update her page with new
pictures once she is transported to rescue. Mya is in need of a foster
or forever home.
