Neka is such a great dog! She does well with the senior male boxer in her foster home, although she is definitely in charge. She would do best in a home with older children. Neka loves to go for walks to the river and to ride in the car. She is wonderful on the leash and knows all of her basic commands. Neka is completely housebroken and is kept in the kitchen when left alone. She is a sweet senior girl who is enjoying her time in foster, but would love to find a forever home!

Neka is doing great in her foster home. She loves to eat and is now up to 43 lbs!  Neka enjoys snuggling with both her foster mom and her foster boxer brother.  She is such a sweetheart!  Neka also has a great time going to the river to play.  She will be spayed next week.  Thank you for your interest in Neka!

Neka is doing great at her foster home. She is very playful with her foster brother, a senior male boxer. Neka is eating well and is very curious about everything. She is very obedient and knows paw, sit, stay, lay down, and come. Neka really enjoyed playing in the snow over the weekend. She is going to be a great girl for a lucky family!

10/25/11

Neka was transported to our vet yesterday and will be arriving at her foster home this evening.  She will be in foster with a senior male boxer.  Neka traveled well in the car on her transport and she just soaked up any love and affection shown to her.  She is such a sweet and easygoing boxer girl!

10/23/11 -

Neka is an adorable white female boxer who was surrendered to the shelter. Her owner had a stroke and is no longer able to care for her. The family members did not want Neka and were going to have her euthanized. Thankfully, the shelter stepped in and had her signed over to them. 

Neka was being kept on the back porch and displayed obvious signs of neglect. Her nails were very overgrown and Neka needed to gain some weight. The volunteer that picked her up from her home couldn't get over how sweet and obedient Neka was. She loves people and other dogs. Neka will be going into foster soon and we will update her page once we know more about her. Thank you for your interest in Neka!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.  

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.  

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.
