1/22/12 Hi! I'm Duke! I'm almost 9
months old and I love to snuggle! My foster mom says my brother and I are
the best snugglers in the world. I've learned a lot since moving to my
foster house. I know how to use the stairs and go outside. Mom says I'm
almost completely housebroken. I don't really enjoy walks too much, but I
love to run around in the yard. I'm a bit nervous because I haven't had too
much experience with humans, but mom says I'm getting better. I like other
dogs a lot. I haven't met too many cats, but the ones I see across the
street don't seem to bother me. I would love to find a forever home that has
a fenced backyard and some time to spend with my training. I'd really like
another dog to play with too. My leg is completely healed and I have been
neutered. If you think I'd be a good fit in your house, please think
about adopting me! I promise I'll be your valentine!
Included below is a brief video of Duke, with his brother King:

Duke is quite the cutie! This
little guy and his brother King have taken over their foster family's home.
They just couldn't be cuter, sweeter little men. Duke is learning how to
live in a house. He's about 90% housebroken, is learning to walk on leash,
and does fine in a crate. He gets along with other dogs and really likes to
eat! Like any puppy, he can get himself into mischief - so he's looking for
someone that is going to work with him to train him the basics. Word of
warning...one look in those sweet little eyes and you will find it very hard
to say no to this little angel.
Duke came to AABR with an injury on his leg. The injury will not
have long term impacts but it will take several months to heal. He can be
adopted, but will need to visit the vet in January to have his wound looked
at. Right now the leg just needs to be kept wrapped and a new bandage put on
every other day. It is not difficult and he's very, very good about letting
you do it. Because the wound is on his leg, not his foot, it doesn't affect
his walking at all. Duke can still run and play (and loves to do both!).
Please consider giving Duke a new home today!

Duke is now in foster with
his sibling, King, and several other dogs. He came into rescue with an
injury to his back leg, which will need to heal before he can be neutered.
Duke is a petite boy and his nub was going as fast as it could wag today
during the transport. His foster mom will update his page once she
gets to know him better. Get your application in today for this sweet
puppy!

Duke and several of his littermates are being transported into rescue
within the next two weeks. These puppies developed the adenovirus at 6
weeks of age. Because they were sick when they were younger, the
breeder was not able to sell them at that time. They have now fully
recovered and are ready for forever homes! AABR has committed to
helping these beautiful puppies find lifelong, wonderful homes.
Please keep in mind that puppies require a lot of work! If you are
interested in a boxer this age, please make sure you are committed and ready
before you apply! To be considered for a six month old boxer, you must have
the time and energy to work on socialization and housebreaking. Somebody
should be home enough to accommodate the needs of a boxer this age. If
you do not have an appropriate home for a puppy or are not interested in a
boxer this age, please consider adopting one of our many other available
adults for adoption.
