6/25/12 Paris is
continuing to do well in her foster home. She recently went and stayed with
a family for a few days who helped with dog sitting and she did great. Paris
got to play hide & seek, ball, and frisbee. She did really well with the two
children, ages 6 & 8. The family chose not to crate her and Paris was a
perfect angel.
Paris is a very playful girl and will do just about anything to get your
attention. She is house/crate trained and has no problem making her bowl
clean :) - she loves dinner hour. Paris is currently being crated while I am
work and when I get home her crate is perfect, like she fixed it up just
before I walked in the door. She is a great little snuggler and will lay in
your arms like a baby. Paris enjoys walks and is wonderful on the leash. She
is getting about a 2 mile walk a day, but would keep going if I could, LOL.
She knows her basic commands, but is so eager to learn more. Paris will not
jump on you, but she can do the boxer wiggle like no other. She would love a
home with a nice fenced in yard. Paris has the cutest face and will melt
your heart with her expressions!
6/3/12
Paris was
returned to rescue because she was not doing well with the older, dominant
female in her new home. Her family was devastated to bring her back.
Paris has returned to her previous foster home, where she is living with a
senior female boxer, a young male boxer, and a Pomeranian. Paris is a
high-energy, playful girl who would love to find a forever home with a young
male dog and a fenced yard. She is an amazing girl who is going to make
somebody really happy! Apply today for Paris!
5/10/12
Paris is
doing wonderful. She has come so far in such a short time. Paris knows her
basic commands, such as sit, speak, paw, stay,& down. She is crate
trained and completely housetrained. We are still working on her leash
manners - she gets so excited when you ask her if she is ready to go
bye-byes.
Paris is currently living with both a female & male Boxer, along with a
Pomeranian and 2 cats. She has not had much interaction with the cats, but
does seem a little too curious about them. However, I would suspect that
Paris could be okay with cats if given the chance to get used to them.
Paris is not much of a jumper and she will bark to let you know if she
hears something. She loves attention and warms up very quickly. Paris has
become quite the little charmer and she is very loyal. Even when the
rest of the gang is playing and having fun, she will wait until I am around
before trying to join in with the others.
Paris is a great snuggler. She does seem to enjoy her doggy bed on
the floor next to my bed. She also doesn't seem to show much interest being
on the furniture. She is a typical boxer who loves toys - she will
'root' in the box to find the perfect toy. She loves tug toys, balls,
frisbees, lazer lights, squeaky toys, and anything that makes a noise...did
I mention she loves toys! I enjoy watching her play. She is so patient
and waits for my male Boxer to invite her to play. I also love the tilt she
does with her head when she is curious about something.
We received wonderful news from the biopsy results. The growth that
was removed from Paris was a trichoblastoma, which is completely benign and
not expected to grow back. It should never have gotten to the shape it
was in when it was finally removed and Paris was almost euthanized because
of her neglect. I am so thankful we were able to save this precious
girl!
I would love for Paris to go to a home with a nice fenced in yard and
another dog to call her furever friend. I am still amazed at how far this
little girl has come in the short time since arriving with AABR. She
has the BIGGEST heart, great looks & an appetite too. And did I mention she
loves toys :)))))) Apply today for Paris!

Included
are some pictures of Paris from her transport yesterday. She did great in
the car and had no problem meeting several new people. Paris gave lots
of kisses and her nub was always wagging. She arrived at her foster home and
introductions went really well with the 3 other boxers and the Pomeranian.
Her foster mom will be posting a new update once Paris settles in and she
gets to know her better.
4/26/12 -
Paris is a three year old female boxer who is as sweet as can be. She
developed an ulcerated tumor on her left hip and her family could not afford
her medical care. A neighbor finally called animal control and Paris was
signed over to the humane society. She is very thin and has suffered
obvious neglect. Paris was scheduled to be euthanized, but AABR
volunteers were able to get this girl quickly into rescue. Paris has now
been spayed and her tumor has been removed. She has been brought up to date
on all vet care and will be arriving at her new foster home this weekend. We
will be posting more information about Paris as we learn more and new
pictures will be added this weekend!
