Sophie got to spend some time today with one of our volunteers.  She went on a long hike at the Reservoir and loved it!  Sophie is a fantastic girl who is very wiggly, energetic, and happy.  Included are some updated pictures.  Apply today to adopt Sophie!

Sophie is thriving in her foster home. She is a very sweet girl who loves to be close by at all times. She knows and obeys commands - sit, down, and stay. Sophie has full run of the house and no longer requires any crate time, though she still runs in there if offered a peanut-butter filled kong! When in the house, she plays with her chew toys and enjoys looking out the window.

Sophie loves to be outside and enjoys sunbathing in the back yard and playing fetch with tennis balls, but her favorite activity is her daily walks. She walks by her foster mom's side and rarely pulls on the leash (except when going to her favorite potty site). She is energetic and needs regular exercise, but also knows how to relax and cuddle. This girl will steal your heart!

Sophie had a play date recently with a Frenchie and a Basset hound - and she did great!  She loved running around in the yard and playing with them.  Sophie would do great in a home that will take her on long walks or hikes.  Her foster home reports that she is very sweet and  has been great with everyone she has met.

4/26/12 -

Sophie is a 2 year old female Boxer who was sadly given up by her owner because the landlord would not let them keep her. Sophie is housebroken and crate trained and knows "sit", "stay", "down" and "high five". Sophie just went into a foster home and we will update her page once we learn more about her.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.  

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.  

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.
