Layla
continues to do well at her foster home! Her foster mom is now a fully
trained dog trainer, so Layla knows all of her basic commands and is great
on the leash. She is still uncomfortable meeting new dogs, but knows to
leave them alone if she is stressed about it. Layla does great at home
around new people. She had a wonderful time at her foster parents New Year's
Eve party, where she entertained guests all night by showing off her new
stuffed octopus toy. Layla was a gracious, well-mannered host the whole
evening.
11/18/12
Layla
is still waiting for her forever home. She has settled in amazingly well at
her foster home and has been here for 3 months already! Layla is well
behaved at home, save for one or two crazy runs around the house each day.
Her foster mom is now working as a dog trainer and Layla has benefited from
their daily training sessions. She knows all of her commands and walks
politely on a leash. Layla still doesn't do well on-leash when encountering
strange dogs, but once she gets to know them - all she wants to do is lick
them and play. She plays and wrestles with the neighbor's female beagle mix
everyday but would do best in a forever home with a male dog or as an only
dog. Layla loves belly rubs, playing with her stuffed octopus, and snuggling
with her foster parents every morning. Apply today if you can provide
a forever home for Layla!
9/18/12
Layla
has been at her foster home for two weeks and she is doing amazing!
She is very playful and loving. Layla knows some basic commands and
responds to her name being called. She still needs some leash work, as
she tends to pull when she sees other dogs nearby.
Layla would do best in a home with no other dogs or with a male dog.
She plays well with our neighbor's dogs - a beagle and poodle. Layla
is very interested in the neighborhood cats, so would be best in a home
without cats. Layla had some skin problems when she first arrived at
her foster home, but it is getting under control now.
Layla is very energetic and needs plenty of exercise. She loves to
cuddle at home with her foster parents. She is crate trained and also
does well when left home alone with free run. Apply today to adopt
Layla!
8/11/12
We are
still waiting for a home to give Layla a chance. She is reported to be
good with other dogs, but would just need to be placed in a home with a dog
that is very tolerant of a high energy boxer. She is very friendly
with people and is patiently waiting for a foster or forever home.
Apply today for Layla!
6/29/12
Layla is
still at the kennel and in need of a foster home. She is a high energy
girl that should be placed with an active family. Layla would benefit
from a fenced area where she can run and play. When you first take her
out, she dances around and rolls on the ground. She does need some
work with her obedience training and leash walking. Layla loves people
and is eager to get into a home. Apply today for Layla!
5/13/12 -
Layla was found as a stray at our boarding kennel, but after six weeks -
her owner still has not been located. Layla will be brought up to date
on all vet care and will then be in need of a foster or forever home.
Layla is a high-energy girl who would benefit from a fenced area to run and
play. She is unknown with other dogs at this time, but will be tested
soon around them. Layla has done well with the cats at the kennel,
although we aren't sure if she has ever lived with a cat. She is a
sweet, fun-loving girl who would do great with an active family. Apply
today for Layla!
