8/22/12 Adam has
grown! Our little man is up to 40lbs and growing taller every day! He had a
little mishap playing with a friend and broke his toe, but it should be fine
in another week or two. That being said, he is not enjoying his splint, his
cone, or his crate confinement. As an active little boy, he has a hard time
trying to keep quiet and still when he'd rather run, jump, and wrestle with
the other dogs. His crate training is going very well. Adam rarely has an
accident in or out of the crate. His skin is looking AMAZINGLY good. He's
got almost all of his hair back and will be retested in 2 weeks to be sure
his demadex is officially gone.
Adam is looking for a family to love. Children around 8 years and up
would be a good match as he does like to pounce as part of his playing. He
does know sit and down, and is just generally a delight to be around. He
wiggles, snuggles, gives kisses, and is just your typical boxer buddy. If
you're looking for a happy, silly, lovable, crazy boy, then Adam is the boy
for you.
7/12/12 -
Meet our new best boy, Adam! You
may have noticed our boy is in pretty rough shape. He has a very nasty case
of demadex mange, with an underlying skin infection and a cherry eye. His
previous family tried very hard to make him well, but just could not afford
the cost of his treatment. Thankfully, they contacted AABR and turned him
over to rescue so that he would have a chance at a happy and healthy life.
This little man is very tiny for
his age. He's almost six months old and just 26lbs. Adam has a huge
personality and is having the time of his life mixing it up with our big
boys. It has been nonstop running, wrestling, tug o war, and ball
chasing since he arrived. Adam's doing well with his house training and is
already pretty good in his crate. We have some cats here too, and he thinks
they are great. They're not all particularly fond of him, but he doesn't let
that bother him.
Adam is simply adorable. He is
so sweet, has already learned his name, and is smart as a whip! He
knows basic commands like sit and down. Adam follows me everywhere and is
just a joy to be around. You would think he'd be miserable considering how
completely terrible his demadex is, but the complete opposite is true. He's
always happy, bouncy, and ready to either play or snuggle.
Adam is going to an amazing addition to some very lucky family. He will
be available for adoption once his skin improves, but the expense of his
treatment is considerable. The antibiotics and other important medications
he needs, along with the surgery he will need to fix his eye, are adding to
the already heavy burden of medical bills AABR has been covering this year.
Please make a donation to support little Adam. He has months of recovery
ahead of him. Adam and AABR are counting on your support so that we
can continue to save any boxer that needs our help. We can't do it without
you. Please donate today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure,
by clicking on the link at the top of this page,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
