Dolly is continuing to do great. She has a new surprise every day - whether it be a new song or just a new attitude, she keeps me going. I said tonight that if Dolly is a senior, I must be 100+ because this little girl is a ball of energy.  On the positive side, she will settle when told.

Dolly just survived Hurricane Sandy with flying colors - she didn't seem to let the high winds & rain keep her from going outside to do her business. I love her outlook - she has the "well, gotta do what I gotta do" attitude. Dolly is continuing to eat like a little champ & loves her walks.

Dolly, like so many other dogs, seems to be getting overlooked for whatever reason.  I can assure you that this little girl is tons of fun. She is still learning new things everyday as well as teaching me things too. She has dropped her snake and now carries a cowboy boot squeaker toy. She enjoyed her Halloween Costume and was by far the prettiest Cheerleader ever.

If you think you have enough room for an itty, bitty, teeny weenie Boxer with a huge heart & big appetite - please apply today for Dolly.

10/10/12

Dolly is continuing to do great in her foster home. She is the most active 'senior dog' I have fostered. She has really learned to enjoy life to the fullest and her activity level increases with each day.....is that even possible? In Dolly's little eyes it is!  She has stopped carrying her snake everywhere, but still likes to sleep with it.  Dolly LOVES to play ball and will keep chasing it & bringing it back to you so you will keep throwing it for her. She is a great eater and cleans her bowl after every meal. Dolly loves to go for walks as well as jogs, but unfortunately I don't jog as much as I should.  I do walk her every night and let her run a little and she loves it.  While I am trying to keep up with her, she looks at me as to say 'come on girl is that all you can do?' LOL

Dolly has met several people since coming into my home and she loves everybody.  Dolly warms up to them super quick. Tonight, her best friend "Gabby" got adopted and if given the chance, she would have surely left with them (not even including the fact they took her playmate).  Dolly has great house manners and loves to be a part of the gang. She also loves bedtime, as she knows that is when pillows & warm blankets are all she needs to take away all of the days worries. Dolly is a super low maintenance girl with a great heart. Please apply today if you think Dolly is the girl you have been waiting for.

Dolly is doing great in her foster home. She is completely house trained and getting along fine with her foster brother & sisters. She is a very devoted little 40lb petite Boxer with a huge heart. I am not crating her as she is not a fan of that, but Dolly is fine being left alone for 8 hours without any problems. Little Dolly will bark to let you know if somebody is at the door or if she hears something that she doesn't recognize, but is fine once she sees what caught her attention. She LOVES to go for walks and is great on the leash - this little girl can even loves to run on leash.  She is a little vocal and will talk to you if you ask her to.

Dolly has been recently spayed and since then has started carrying a long 4ft snake around (big squeaker dog toy) - it's very cute to see her drag this toy that is almost twice her size. I really believe in my heart that she thinks it's her baby. We take it everywhere with us, including the Vet. She doesn't seem too interested in other toys. Dolly is quite the little snuggler and is a total joy to have around. I love the "Where did you get a miniature Boxer?" question that I hear everywhere we go.

8/24/12

Dolly is doing great in her new foster home. She is getting along well with her foster brother & sisters, however she does show a little too much interest in the cats. She is completely house trained and loves to go for her daily walks. In fact, she is a great little jogger also. Dolly is not a fan of the crate & will whine to come back out. I have not been crating her and she is doing well with having free run all day. Usually I come home to find her napping on the couch (I know, what a tough life!) Miss Dolly will sit and she will also talk if you ask her what's wrong. In fact, she can almost yodel, LOL! She is a tiny little girl with a BIG heart & appetite. She is also such a faithful little girl and she will follow me from room to room. Now for the down side of her.....she is the prettiest little senior with a huge tongue and the cutest little ears you have ever seen on a dog...but please don't tell my senior girl that. If you are looking for a very laid back Boxer with lots of personality, please apply today for Miss Dolly.

8/22/12

Dolly has arrived at her foster home and is settling in with no problems!  She is in foster with three other dogs (2 boxers and a Pomeranian).  Included are some pictures from her transport and Dolly's first few days at her new foster home.  An update will be posted as soon as her foster mom gets to know her better.

8/18/12 -

Dolly was found as a stray and taken to a high kill shelter. We received an urgent plea for Dolly and thankfully, AABR was able to help.  Dolly is estimated to be around 7-8 years of age. She is reported to do well with other dogs. Dolly is very friendly and seems to be an easygoing girl. She walks great on leash. Dolly will be going to her new foster home this weekend and we will update her page once we learn more about her.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
