This
happy guy is quickly picking up his new life style. We are pleased to say
that Galen has most of his commands mastered (sit, stay and come) and he is
fully house broken. He had a visit to the salon where he was loved by
everyone and he enjoyed being pampered. Galen is still being crated during
the day while his foster parents are at work, but has full run of the house
while they are at home and he does great. Galen sleeps in the crate, but is
about to embark on sleeping in a dog bed in the bedroom - we are hoping that
is a hit! He loves his BIG foster sister and wants to play constantly and is
great at taking orders from her. He is very loving to all, small children
included, and has met many new furry friends in the last few weeks and does
great with them as well. We cant believe he hasn't gotten a furever home
yet. Apply now to add this happy boy to your family!

Galen has
adapted amazingly well to a cozy home life during the last two weeks. He is
our gentle giant. Galen is doing great with house training. He does need to
be crated when we are at work, but while we are here he has free reign of
the house and has had only one accident on his arrival. Galen is great
around children of all ages, from newborn up. He has also done well with any
adult who has come to our home. Galen is very loving and takes treats or
snacks so easy. He is not a jumper at all.
Galen has been around both male and female dogs with no problem. We do
think he would do better with an in-charge female, as he tries to take over
with dogs that are smaller and more submissive. Galen needs a leader who can
continue his training and socialization. He is looking for a home with a
standard fence, as he really benefits from having a secure place to run.
Galen has done well in the car. He recently went to the beach and slept
most of the 3 hour trip. Galen is happy to go for walks and he has already
figured out that as soon as you pick up his leash, that means walk time. We
love Galen and hope someone has the perfect place for him, as he will show
you great love and affection given the chance.
8/22/12 -
AABR received a call for help when six boxers were removed from a
property due to neglect. All of the dogs were being kept in the yard without
proper food, water, or shelter. Most of them are very thin and need some
TLC. They have not been taught much and need a home that can provide
training and guidance for them. The six boxers were removed to the care of a
veterinarian, where they have been given a flea bath, dewormed, and
vaccinated. AABR will be transporting them this weekend.
Galen is an adorable white male. He is strong on leash and needs
some work on his manners. Galen is very thin and in need of some TLC.
He will be going into a foster home with a female boxer. We will
update his page once we know more about him. Apply today for Galen!
