10/31/13 Roc is still waiting in his
foster home and it has now been a year. All Roc needs is a good leader
and he will follow. Roc loves treats of all kinds, squeaky toys, and
going for walks. Most of all, Roc would love to snuggle up with
someone that he could give his unconditional love and loyalty to. Roc
has been waiting patiently for a long time for that special home to come
along and welcome him. Is Roc the companion you are looking for?
7/18/13
Roc has become one fantastic
dog. If you have been looking him over and are not sure of his behavioral
needs, please don't hesitate to contact his foster mom or dad. Roc is easily
commanded and has overcome most of his anxiety issues. Roc is very eager to
please and loves to be snuggled. He will make a truly loyal companion. Roc
would work either in a home without dogs or in a home with dogs. He runs
like a nut playing with his foster sister. We enjoy watching the two of them
run back and forth in the yard and even through the house. Roc is not overly
energetic and is happy to do as everyone else around him is doing. He loves
to go out on the leash and has learned to walk on your side without any
pull. Roc is the full package. We don't know how long he lived on the
streets or what happened during that time, but wherever he came from - he
deserves a family that will love him for life.
4/27/13
Roc was a stray and now a foster, but he has high hopes of being adopted by
that special family or person that won't ever let him get away! Roc never
has an accident in his foster home. He can be crated or left out in the
house - he respects his surroundings. Roc makes an awesome companion as he
will follow you anywhere you go in the house, just waiting for that moment
when he can lay his head on your lap or curl up by your feet. He will kiss
you too...lots of kisses and lots of wiggles! Roc is in great shape and has
a soft fawn coat.
Roc has benefited from training to
curb his anxiety in chaotic noisy areas and he has been walking right by
people and situations without any trouble at all. He does very well on the
leash, sits patiently for his food, and knows commands such as sit, down,
lay, back, out, paw, leave it and no. Roc also knows the sound of a treat
bag, box or jar and could hear it no matter where he is or how sneaky you
try to be! Unfortunately, we don't know if Roc has any experience with cats
as there are not any in his foster home. Roc is not a high energy dog - he
is rather mild and balances play and rest well. Roc has really made
great strides with training. Apply today to adopt Roc!

Roc is still hanging out in
his foster home waiting for that perfect family to come and scoop him up! He
was adopted for a couple weeks, but the family felt that Roc wasn't the
right match for them. Roc is a fantastic dog. He doesn't need a crate
but can be crated. Roc gets along well with other dogs and is
completely housebroken. He sits for his food and will do almost
anything he is capable of for a treat. Roc also enjoys snuggling on
the couch.
Roc still has a little fear/anxiety around noisy and chaotic areas, as
well as some fear of strangers. But, luckily for Roc - he has the help of a
wonderful trainer who knows just how to help him. Since his training has
begun, he has made progress and is doing much better. Roc is a good boy and
deserves a chance from that boxer savvy person or family looking for a new
companion. And please don't let that gray muzzle fool you -this boy can run
with the pups!!
12/13/12
Roc has been returned to
rescue to find a better match for him. He has arrived back at his
foster home. A new update will be submitted soon for Roc!
10/21/12
Roc has been with us for a
few weeks now. He is an approximately 5 year old fawn with a black mask and
just a touch of flash on his chest. Roc was found as a stray and taken in by
the rescue. Roc is very eager to please. He sits and waits for his food and
listens to most basic commands. He is completely house broken and never had
an accident in his foster home. He was being crated at night and during work
hours, but we found that at night he will go to his bed as told and remain
there without wandering the house. Roc does well in the crate during work
hours and is motivated by treats, so he is glad to go into the crate.
He is respectful of all things in the house that aren't his. With that being
said, he often confuses fluffy slippers for toys and we have to chase him
down to get them back. Roc loves this and you can see his eyes light up and
his smile behind the fluffy slipper as he gives chase. Roc loves unstuffed
soft toys, squeak toys, chew toys, rope toys and any toy he could get his
paws on!
Roc does well on the leash, but has a difficult time when there are a lot
of people or other dogs on the street. He seems to be stressed by noise and
chaos, so a quiet neighborhood would suit him best. Roc likes to jump on
people and he is strong, so he is recommended for kids 8 and over. He is
working on how to greet people without jumping on them in his foster home
and doing well. Roc is best meeting new people when he is in the crate.
Roc has a 3yr old foster sister and a 7yr old foster brother that he gets
along well with. Roc had no trouble fitting in and finding his place in the
home. At 5 yrs old, Roc is the perfect balance of play and rest. If the
family is resting or watching TV, he will too. If the family and other dogs
are playing, he will too. He loves having a fenced yard to run free in. He
enjoys giving and receiving snuggles and affection and will join you on the
couch to rest his head on your lap. If you are looking for a good dog with
minimal training requirements, then Roc is for you. He has not been a
problem in his foster home and Roc deserves a family of his own.

Roc was found as a stray and taken to
the local shelter. He is quite a handsome gentleman who absolutely
loves attention! He wiggles when you pet him and is more then happy to give
you kisses. On transport to the kennel, he sat in the front seat and rested
his head on my shoulder the entire ride. Roc deserves a home that will give
him as much love as he will give them. The volunteer who walked Roc at the
kennel indicated he is the perfect balance of playful, loving, and relaxed.
He knows his basic commands and didn't pay much attention to the outdoor
cat. He needs to put on some weight, but Roc is a small framed boy. Apply
for this lover-boy today!! |
