Maggie is still looking for a forever home. Her temporary foster mom reports: "She loves my male Boxer and my 2 girls. Maggie loves to be with you wherever you go. While being put in her crate she does whine, but upon arrival there is not a sound out of her until she is let out. Maggie is great on leash, enjoys car rides, and still loves belly rubs. She is wonderful with my cat and couldn't care less if my cat was right in front of her. Get your applications in for Maggie - she is a gem!"

Maggie has settled into her new foster home quite nicely. She has made her presence known with her sweet natured personality. After a week of becoming accustomed to her new surroundings, she has established a great relationship with my resident boxer, Dozer. They have begun to play in their natural "boxer" demeanor. Maggie is working on remaining in her crate happily while I am gone. She just wants to be close to whoever is around her. Maggie met my cat and at first, she didn't seem to care much.  As time wore on, Maggie became fixated on finding her. She was constantly on the lookout -the type you would see of a curious dog when they know someone has come home, but not quite sure where they are in the house. She would even crawl under my bed! After discussing this behavior with a trainer, I have worked with Maggie and her "fixation" has dwindled down to a controlled interest. Maggie is a love bug that will warm the heart of any dog lover. Maggie deserves to be loved in a forever home!!

10/7/12 -

Maggie is an adorable boxer that was found as a stray and ended up in animal control. No one came to claim her, so AABR was contacted to find her a good home. She is now in a temporary foster home where she can relax and sleep on a soft bed without any worries. Maggie is in good shape with a nice coat.  She is a compact girl and seems to have a nice temperament.  Maggie rode well in the car and she is incredibly sweet and lovable. She loves to be loved, especially belly rubs, and has been very obedient. We will bring her to the vet to be spayed and then she will be ready to be a loyal companion to someone lucky enough to adopt her into their forever home.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
