Zeus is in urgent need of a foster home so he can get out of the kennel.  He has been there too long and is not doing well in this environment.  AABR is willing to provide a trainer to his foster home, if needed, but we need a foster home willing to step up for him.  If you can help Zeus, please let us know so we can get this boy back into a home!

5/8/13

Zeus has been at our boarding kennel since December and we would love to get this boy back into a home environment.  Zeus is very loyal with his family. He needs a boxer experienced owner or foster home that can provide consistency and training.  Please give Zeus a chance.  Included are three new pictures from a recent visit by our volunteer and photographer (RussellBrammer.com).

Zeus received a visit from our volunteers on Monday and he had a great time on his walk.  He was so happy to see them, wiggling and jumping everywhere.  Included are some new pictures from the visit.  Zeus is still at our kennel and in need of a foster home.  Apply today to help Zeus!

Zeus is being returned to rescue and is in need of a new foster home. He is looking for an experienced family that can work with a protective dog. Zeus has been in a home with two female boxers and two teenage children. He has lost a significant amount of weight since coming into rescue with just a proper diet and exercise plan. Zeus does wonderful with his family and would love to get back into a home.  Please offer to help this handsome boy!

Zeus has arrived at his foster home and his foster mom will update his page once she learns more about him.  What we do know is that Zeus has been through a lot of change in the last four years.  He was rehomed at only 8 months of age because his owner became pregnant and didn't want to care for both Zeus and the baby.  His next owner passed away and Zeus was taken in by family members temporarily.  Zeus then went to a temporary foster home and was transported this past weekend.

He is currently in foster with three other boxers, and introductions are going well.  It does take Zeus some time to become comfortable with new men.  It took him about 15 minutes to get to know his new foster dad, and he is now doing fine with him.

Zeus is looking for a home experienced with boxers that will be patient with him and that understands how to work with a protective dog.  Zeus has been through a lot and needs to gain some confidence.  We will post more info as he settles in at his foster home.

10/10/12 -

Zeus's owner passed away and he was left without a home.  He was moved to another home, but they were not able to care for him long-term.  AABR was then contacted for help.

Zeus will be arriving at his new foster home this weekend.  He does need some work with leash walking and would do best in a home familiar with this breed.  Zeus previously lived with two children, ages 9 and 15.  He likes to chase cats and got along well with the female dogs in his previous home.  Zeus needs to lose some weight.  We will post more information about Zeus as soon as he settles into his new foster home!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
