Chu Chu has settled in great at her foster home with three resident boxers and a 9 year old child.  Introductions went very smoothly and Chu Chu plays well with her foster siblings.  She loves to chew on Nylabones and chase a tennis ball.  Chu Chu knows "sit" and "paw".  She has a fantastic personality and would do great in a home with another dog or a playful adult!  She is making some progress with her crate training, but would do best at this time in a home where she doesn't have to be crated all day.  Chu Chu is starting to gain back some much needed weight that she lost at the kennel.

Testing at our vet revealed that Chu Chu has an intra pelvic bladder, which is a congenital defect.  Her bladder is incorrectly positioned in her pelvic canal.  Chu Chu needs to remain on a small dose of Proin to control leaking, which has seemed to really help her.  More information will be posted soon once her foster family learns more about her.

Chu Chu was in a temporary foster home, where we have learned a little more about her. We have determined that Chu Chu would do best in a home without cats, but she would absolutely love an active dog to play with! She met three new dogs at her temporary home and introductions were very easy - Chu Chu was running and playing within minutes. She does not do well in a crate, so needs somebody to help her become less anxious when crated or that can work with her on being comfortable in a safe, restricted area when alone. Chu Chu is very sweet and has lots of kisses to give out. If you can provide a foster or forever home for Chu Chu, please apply today! Let's make her birthday on Monday a special day for her!

11/15/12 -

Chu Chu is a friendly boxer girl who was surrendered to the shelter because she "needed too much attention." Chu Chu is already spayed and up to date on all vet care. She was great for handling at the shelter during intake. Chu Chu was walking around the room and licking everyone's faces. She walks well on a lead, only pulling a little bit. Chu Chu has been relatively calm in the kennel at the shelter, but she seems unsure when brought into new spaces. Chu Chu has a lot of potential and seems to be in excellent condition. She passed her dog test with flying colors. Below is a short video link after she was introduced to another dog. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this beautiful girl, apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
