12/13/12

Levi has been gaining weight nicely in foster and is already up to 58 lbs! He is just spectacular. I cannot believe that a dog that lived like he did is so friendly and affectionate. Levi goes right into the crate when I tell him and he does not fuss at all while I am gone. He is completely housebroken. Levi has been friendly with every person and animal that he has met. He went to a dog tree lighting party and was fine with the dogs there. I have had him at work a few days and he has done well with the dog and cat there. Levi is such a sweet boy and so well behaved. He walks like a dream on a leash and stays right next to you. Levi is working on learning his basic commands and has mastered sit and is doing well with down and stay. He is learning how to play with toys and people. This wonderful boy is going to be a great addition to a lucky home.

11/28/12

Levi was transported into rescue today and will be arriving at his new foster home this weekend.  He traveled great in the car, curling up in the backseat and sleeping the whole way.  Levi did well meeting new people and he interacted great with Sasha.  We will post more info as Levi gets settled in at his foster home!

11/24/12 -

Levi and Sasha were part of a seizure of more than 70 malnourished animals. Their previous owners are being charged for animal cruelty. Authorities removed 29 emaciated dogs, 14 cats, five guinea pigs, two pot belly pigs, 20 chickens, and a goat. All of the animals were underfed, with no food or water near them. Many were living on top of feces and garbage.

Levi and Sasha will be transported to AABR next week, where they will be evaluated and brought up to date on all vet care. Both are in need of foster homes. Levi has already been neutered. He is very thin and in need of some TLC. Apply today if you are interested in fostering or adopted Levi or Sasha. More information and updated photos will be posted after their transport.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
