1/01/13 Sasha is
one of the sweetest little boxer girls you could ever meet. At just 37
pounds, she is as small as a boxer comes. Sasha loves to sit in your
lap and is a huge snuggle bug. Despite the horrible place where she
came from where she was chained up outside and living on garbage and feces,
Sasha at one time must have been a house dog as she is the perfect pet with
the best manners! She is very obedient and even waits for permission
to go out the door or come back inside.
Sasha knows sit and shake. She is good in her crate or left loose
in the house when no one is home. She loves to lay on a sofa or chair,
and is a great bed buddy at night. Sasha gets along with other dogs,
kids 5 or older, and appears to be good with cats as well. She eagerly
and happily meets strangers with her tail always wagging. Sasha loves
to play with the 16 month old boxer in her foster home. She is not a
big barker - she only barks when she hears something she feels she needs to
alert you about. Sasha is very smart and eager to please.
Sasha is currently in swim therapy, which was donated by a friend of her
foster mom. This therapy will help strengthen her thighs, which were
atrophied from years of living on a chain. An x-ray has also revealed
some older, healed injuries - which include a fractured left hip,
dislocated/slipped right patella, and a degenerated vertebrae. These
are signs of some sort of trauma from many years ago, which could have been
being hit by a car or possible physical abuse. Despite her old
injuries, Sasha loves to go for walks. She is able to play with people
and other dogs without any problems.

Sasha
is a petite girl, weighing only 32 lbs. Once she gains some weight, she will
be able to be spayed. Sasha was transported into rescue today and
arrived at her new foster home, where she is settling in well. Sasha
is such a sweet girl and enjoyed all the attention. She traveled well
in the crate and her tail was wagging nonstop. Sasha would love
nothing better than to be close to people, which is amazing considering the
conditions she came out of. Sasha's new foster mom will update her
page as soon as she gets to know her better.

Sasha and Levi were part of a seizure of more than 70 malnourished
animals. Their previous owners are being charged for animal cruelty.
Authorities removed 29 emaciated dogs, 14 cats, five guinea pigs, two pot
belly pigs, 20 chickens, and a goat. All of the animals were underfed, with
no food or water near them. Many were living on top of feces and garbage.
Sasha and Levi will be transported to AABR next week, where they will be
evaluated and brought up to date on all vet care. They are in need of foster
homes. Apply today if you are interested in fostering Sasha or Levi! More
information and updated photos will be posted after their transport. |
