6/1/13

It has been two weeks and Patti is settling in nicely in her new foster home. Patti seems to have never met a stranger. She warms up to everyone she meets and has an adorable little nub wag, causing her to dance with excitement. She is wonderful around people of all ages. She is very gentle around my 4 grandchildren, ages 10 months to 4 years old, and also my 94 year old Dad.

Patti has full run of the house and can be left alone with her fur brother and is not destructive at all! Patti absolutely loves to go on walks and she walks beautifully beside you, never pulling one bit. Patti does like to be the one in charge at her tender age of 10, but this only comes out when playing with her fur brother, who also wants to be the one in charge at times. Neither one of them bark, not even when the doorbell rings! However, they both are very vocal with their play.

Patti would do wonderfully as an only dog or with another easygoing male. She would prefer a quieter household for the most part, as her favorite pastime is lounging on her over stuffed dog beds or the sofa.

4/27/13

Patti continues to be a true delight in her foster home. She is almost as perfect as you can get. She is sweet, a good listener, can be left loose in the house and is not destructive or bad, she is happy, and loves to run and play. Patti has no idea that she is 10 years old other than she does like to be the boss, which is typical of older females. Patti needs a home with a male who can respect her as the one in charge, but at her age who can blame her - she certainly has earned that position.

With people and children, Patti has a limitless amount of love to give. She is one of the sweetest and best boxers I have ever fostered and if I didn't have 6 boxers of my own already, I would adopt her myself in an instant. Because Patti's foster mom is moving at the end of May, she is in need of a new foster placement.  Please don't let this sweet senior girl go into a kennel.  If you are interested in fostering or adopting Patti, apply today!

Patti is doing great in her foster home!  She is such a sweet girl and just loves to be in your lap.  Patti visited the ophthalmologist this past week, and she has lost vision in her right eye due to an old injury that was never treated.  She is not in any pain at this time and it doesn't slow her down any.  If you are interested in adopting a wonderful senior girl who gets along great with children, dogs, and cats - apply for Patti!

3/15/13

Patti has recovered from kennel cough and was able to be picked up from the shelter yesterday. She has been kept in a temporary foster home the past two weeks and that foster mom indicated that Patti has done great with her two other boxers. She also likes the cat, although he is not a fan of hers. Patti has been great with the children in the home (ages 3, 7, and 17 years). She is completely housebroken.

Patti was transported to our vet yesterday and the volunteer indicated that she is a petite girl who is as sweet as can be! She was relaxed in the car and enjoyed all the attention.  Once Patti is spayed and has her dental, she will be arriving at her new foster home with several other boxers. Don't pass up this sweet senior girl - she is going to be a wonderful addition to a lucky home.

2/23/13 -

Patti is a 10 year old female boxer who was surrendered to the shelter when her owners moved to a place that did not allow pets. She will be going to our rescue vet soon for some dental work and to be updated on all vet care. The shelter reports that Patti is a very friendly girl.  She previously lived with another dog.  Patti is in urgent need of a foster home so we can get her out of the shelter and into rescue. If you are able to foster Patti, apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
