7/18/13 Sadie's
cherry eye has completely healed. She loves to be outside and will spend all
day soaking up the sun or relaxing on the couch! Sadie loves her belly
rubbed. She is a very playful girl with her foster brother (also a Boxer).
Sadie also enjoys going on long walks. She would love to find a forever
family to call her own!!

Sadie is
doing great! She recently had surgery to repair a cherry eye, which has
healed well. She really has come a long way with us since February. Sadie is
walking well on a leash and loves to play with her boxer brother, Jax. She
also enjoys chewing bones and having down time on the couch. Sadie is house
trained, crate trained, and understands basic commands like sit, stay, lay
and down. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Sadie, apply today!

Sadie is
in need of a new foster home. Her foster family lives on a busy road and is
concerned for her safety. She needs a foster home with a high fenced yard or
a home that is willing to leash walk her. Sadie is great with other dogs and
likes kids, but needs a home without cats. She loves to run and would really
love a place to run and play.

Sadie's
foster mom reports the following:
Sadie has been here 6 weeks now and we love her! She gets along great
with her foster brother, Jax (1 year old male boxer) and they are
inseparable! She knows basic commands such as sit, stay, lay down and she
gives her paw for treats - which she takes very gently from your hand. With
Sadie being more comfortable now, she is getting more cuddly with us and
loves playing with toys, chewing on bones, and playing tug of war with the
toy rope. Sadie also loves attention from our kids (ages 14 & 12). Sadie
enjoys being outside. If she sees you pick up a leash, she runs right to the
door! She has loved the snow - licking grass, rocks and leaves just for a
taste of it. I think a fenced in yard would be perfect for Sadie as she
still has a tendency to pull on the leash. With a little patience and
training, she has become a fabulous girl! Get your applications in for Sadie
today!

Sadie is
a really sweet girl who picks up things quickly. She is not a cuddler
yet with her foster family, although she does allow her foster dad to rub
her belly. She is a cuddler with their other Boxer, Jax, and gets very sad
when separated from him unless that separation means she can be sprawled out
on the couch. The foster family is experimenting with what will make the
dogs happiest when they are out during the day. Sadie loves to be with her
foster family and Jax, and they go on lots of walks. She is very strong on
the leash, so Sadie is learning some manners. She is very polite when it
comes to meal and treat times, and she takes things very gently. As a
reward, Sadie gets a raw egg at breakfast with her food. She also enjoys
baths!

Sadie was found as a stray in West
Virginia and taken into the shelter by animal control. She is a very
smart girl who was able to get out of her kennel at the shelter and was
found in another kennel with two small dogs. She is also very strong on the
leash. We will post more information about Sadie when she arrives from West
Virginia. |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure,
by clicking on the link at the top of this page,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
