Anna is doing fantastic! The only word to describe her is wonderful. She is housebroken and well behaved in the home. Anna is also great with other dogs. In just 3 days, she was trying to get the resident male to play with her. Anna loves her toys and will even play by herself. One of her favorite toys is a ball. Anna is crate trained, but doesn't need to be crated. She has gained a much needed 5 lbs. Anna did not have an easy life before rescue, but this girl is sweet as sugar - apply today for Anna!

Anna has been with us 2 1/2 weeks now and we got the sweetest girl you can imagine.  She was very scared when she arrived in foster, but has been relaxing more with each day.  More of Anna's personality is coming out also with each day.  She even started to play with some toys!  

Anna can be timid with other dogs, particularly those who are more active.  She does not like to be approached initially by other dogs, but does get comfortable with them if given some time.  Anna just had her stitches taken out and has gained 3 lbs, something we were glad to hear as she was so thin when she came to us. 

Anna would love a home where there is somebody there with her often.  Anna can be placed with another dog, but it should be a less active companion.  She is going to be a great girl for a lucky family!

Anna is doing great in her foster home. She is a very sweet and playful girl. Anna gets along well with her foster brother, an older boxer boy.

3/23/13 -

Anna's owner threatened to shoot her when he no longer wanted her, so a young couple who heard this took her in.  They could not afford two dogs, so asked AABR for help.  Anna is a 4-5 year old boxer girl who is great with people and other dogs.  She will be brought up to date on all vet care on Monday, and then will need a foster or forever home.  If you can help Anna, apply today!

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.  

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.  

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.
