Jasmine continues to do well in her foster home, although she still has anxiety when left in the crate - so she would do best in a home where somebody is there a lot.  Jasmine loves to greet and kiss people at adoption events or anywhere she goes.  She is super friendly!!  Jasmine is good with other dogs, but likes to be the boss - so needs to be in a home with a very submissive dog.  She is very loveable and just needs a home that is understanding of her fear of being left alone and will work with her.  The rewards of her companionship are well worth it!!

You couldn't ask for a more devoted and loving dog as Jasmine!  This is the first time her foster home has ever fostered a deaf dog and reports you would never really know she was deaf other than having to use signs instead of your voice with her.  This can actually be an advantage when you are on the phone and want to communicate with Jasmine since the caller on the other end will never even know you are talking to your dog.  :-)  Jasmine LOVES to kiss, kiss, kiss everyone she meets!!!  This girl is a true people lover!!!

Jasmine is good with other dogs, but she does like to be the boss.   In her foster home she is best buddies with a 2 year old boxer girl who loves to play with Jasmine.  The foster mom also babysits a 10 month old Lab girl that Jasmine also plays with.  Jasmine gets along great with kids of all ages, but could knock down a small child when she gets excited - so kids over 5 years would probably be best for this reason.  She does play regularly with the foster mom's nephews, who are 3 and 5 years old.  They love Jasmine and come over specifically to play with her!

Jasmine's housebreaking has made huge strides.  She rarely has an accident anymore as long as she is given opportunity to go outside, since she does not know how to ask you to take her out.  She does not like to be left alone and will still have accidents in her crate, but this has also improved and her foster mom feels that given time, she will also stop doing this as well.  She just needs to know she is secure and safe and has nothing to fear or worry about.

Jasmine is full of character - she is a hoot to watch playing with her toys in the yard and she actually does quite well entertaining herself!  She is the best snuggler and will cuddle up to you on the couch and also loves laying on a dog bed at her foster mom's feet while she is on the computer.  She, like any dog, is not perfect but she has soooo much to offer and she is truly a very easy girl to fall in love with.

Sadly for Jasmine, her foster mom is getting ready to move and she URGENTLY needs a new foster home.  Her foster mom does not want her to go to the boarding kennel, which may be the only option if a new foster is not found.  Her foster mom feels the boarding kennel will put all of Jasmine's training backwards, especially since Jasmine will be so stressed in a kennel situation.  Therefore, her foster mom is hoping and praying for a foster home or adopter to come forward for Jasmine as soon as possible.

Included are some new pictures of Jasmine at our recent adoption event.  She is still in need of a foster or forever home.  Please offer to provide a home for this petite and loving girl!

Jasmine came to AABR as a stray about a week and a half ago. She was deaf and very thin. Upon arrival at her foster home, Jasmine was not housebroken and did not know any signs to communicate. It almost seems as though she was never really given the chance by her original owners and never had a home that took the time to train her. Her foster mom is working with her and she has made a lot of progress already. Jasmine now knows some sign language and her house breaking is improving. She would rather not be crated, but is showing improvement with that also. Jasmine is gaining weight and is a great eater!

Jasmine is VERY sweet. She is a lovable girl who is a big cuddler. She just wants someone to pay attention to her and love on her. Jasmine really wants to please and she loves to give kisses. You couldn’t ask for a more lovable, petite girl!!!

Jasmine gets along with other dogs, but is very guarded upon first meeting them. Once she realizes they wont hurt her, she is okay. However, she does still get protective when food is around or when she is in your lap and another dog comes up to you. That being said, she is in a foster home with six other boxers and she can mingle with them all.

Jasmine's foster mom can't express how sweet and loving this girl is! She is good with kids and has also been around a Boston Terrier girl that she was okay with once she got used to her. Her favorite place to lay is across your lap. She is very smart and needs a home that is patient and consistent with training her. She just needs to continue to learn how to communicate with signs. Jasmine likes to be in the same room where her family is and feels much more confident when she can see them. Her foster mom feels it is very possible she has lived in her quiet world of being deaf for all of her life not knowing how to communicate with anyone as badly as she wants to please people and be accepted by them.

Jasmine needs a home that is patient and experienced with boxers or deaf dogs to continue to take the time to guide her. She deserves the chance that was never given to her as a puppy growing up. Jasmine has huge potential and is the best companion and snuggle buddy you could ask for!

Jasmine's current foster mom is moving at the end of May, so Jasmine will need to find another foster home or better yet, a forever home, before that time. We really do not want to see her go into a kennel, as she will lose all of the great progress she has made in foster. If you can help Jasmine, apply today to foster or adopt this sweet girl!

4/10/13 -

Jasmine is a boxer girl who is estimated to be around 18 - 24 months old. She arrived at the shelter in December and was very thin, weighing only 38 pounds. Jasmine has one blue eye and one brown eye. She is very energetic and loves attention. Jasmine gets along great with other dogs and just loves to play. She appears to be deaf and will need someone who is willing to work with her. Jasmine tested heartworm positive, but has been treated and is well on her way to recovery! She will be arriving at her new foster home tomorrow, and we will update her page once we learn more about her. Jasmine is looking for a home with a secure, fenced yard and another dog to be her ears. Apply today for this adorable girl!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
