is a link to a short video of Pilot enjoying running around the yard and
playing with his 11 year old foster sister. Even if she stays inside, he
loves running and playing by himself!

Pilot
can always be seen with a toy in his mouth, sometimes even while performing
his duty if he wants to bring it along. He walks well on the leash except
for when he sees another dog because he wants to play. He LOVES fetch. His
manners are improving as he now knows sit and down, working on stay, and
sits and waits for his food and before entering the house. He has graduated
to the same home access as our girl and sleeps quietly on a dog bed in our
room at night. While we are gone, he stays in a crate with no complaints
(we actually just swapped his crate with a larger one so he has more room to
stretch out.). This loving and friendly boy is going to be a wonderful
addition to a lucky family!
8/1/13 -
Meet Pilot. Pilot needs a new home
after his owner had open heart surgery and could no longer care for him.
Pilot is a six-year old male boxer. In these first six years, he was never
given the opportunity to have a loving home. Recently, however, the
grandmother of his owner was able to gain ownership of him. Being a true dog
lover, she tried to give Pilot a good home. However, due to her size, age
and sudden health emergency, she is no longer able to care for him, but
desperately wants him to find a good home. When no one is home, or during
the night, Pilot goes into his crate (willingly), and then goes out to
relieve himself immediately after leaving the crate. When he has the run of
the house with the family home, he may cry when he has to go out. He has a
pet monkey that he loves to play with. He also likes to play with his ball
and likes walks.
Pilot is a very loving dog. If you
are looking for a 60-lb. lap dog, here’s your man. All he wants is to be
loved. Being a boxer, he is a very strong dog. In spite of his less than
perfect early years, there is no reason why Pilot cannot live out the second
half of his life in the happy home he so deserves. Apply today! |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure,
by clicking on the link at the top of this page,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
