3/19/14

Miss Lydia has had a painful month, but now has a beautiful future of being heartworm free in front of her.  She has just completed her heartworm treatment and is still recovering.  Despite what she has had to endure, Lydia is in high spirits and has a smile on her face.  She is still looking for a forever home that she can share her kisses with.  Lydia would do great in a household with or without other dogs.  She has been exposed to children in the 5-7 yr old range and did well.  Lydia is extremely calm and loves to be around people.  Do you need a loving, easygoing companion?  If so, give Lydia a chance!

1/25/14

Lydia's foster mom couldn't be more pleased.  Lydia is a one of a kind gem.  She is extremely affectionate and strives to make you happy.  Lydia walks beautifully on leash and rides quietly in the car.  She is an amazing, all around dog that would be a wonderful addition to any family.

Lydia will begin her heartworm treatment next week and would love for her forever family to be by her side the way she would be by their side.  Lydia does not disappoint!  She has a great temperament, gets along well with other dogs, knows basic commands, and let's not forget - she is gorgeous!

12/23/13

Sweet, calm, loveable, alert, and eager to please are just a few words to describe this beautiful 6 yr old. Lydia is full of kisses and has a smile that is contagious! She is currently perfecting her commands (sit, stay, down) and is already fully housebroken. She is being fostered with a male and female boxer duo, whom she has quickly taken a liking to. She shows no signs of food aggression and eats side by side with them.  Lydia is a beautiful lady and wants nothing more than to find a forever home to share her endless love with.

11/27/13 -

Lydia was surrendered to the shelter by her owners.  Sweet Lydia is about 6 years old and appears to be in good health. She is heartworm positive. Lydia has been vaccinated, dewormed and had a flea treatment. She weighs 56 pounds. Lydia is reported to be good with other dogs and very friendly. She is currently in a temporary foster home in Atlanta and will be transport to New York after Thanksgiving. Once in New York, she will be treated for her heartworm disease and will need a foster home with a warm bed to recuperate. Please open your heart and home to this beautiful girl who finds herself homeless due to no fault of her own. Apply to adopt Lydia.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
