Kane is a wonderful boy and very laid back. He just wants to snuggle and be loved on.  Kane LOVES children.  He met my neighbor's grandchildren and got so excited.  He laid next to them all evening and was very gentle with them.

Kane only barks when he needs to go outside or when he is hungry.  He is getting more playful with the two other dogs.  Kane especially likes to wrestle with his foster sister, Emma. He has gained five pounds and probably has 5-10 more pounds to go.  He is on a natural supplement which is helping his old injury.  Once he is moving around, you wouldn't even know!

Kane was anxious about being left alone at first, but he is crated in the same room as the other two dogs and is learning from them.  We feel he would do best in a home with at least one other dog.  If you are interested in adopting Kane, apply today!

Kane will be remaining in his foster home until he finds a forever family of his own.  He is eating well and should gain some much needed weight.  Included is a new picture of Kane with his foster sister, Emma, enjoying the sun.

Kane is doing great in his temporary foster home, but would really love to find his forever home soon!  Kane has excellent house manners and hasn't tried to jump on any furniture.  He is housebroken and crates easily, although he does bark initially for a few minutes in the crate until settled.  Kane has an old injury with his back knee that causes slight discomfort, so he would do best in a home with more gentle dogs so there isn't as much rough play.  Kane seems to really enjoy the other two dogs in his current home.  He is a total sweetheart and loves to be loved!  Kane is gorgeous trotting around the yard.  He enjoys snuggling and giving kisses.  Kane is a spunky boy who is a lot of fun and is going to be a wonderful companion!

1/25/14 -

Kane and Jasmine's owners broke up and the dogs ended up finding themselves in an abandoned house.  The Humane Society stepped in and was able to get Kane to the vet a few days ago.  We were asked to help both boxers find a new home through rescue.

Kane was transported yesterday and he was wonderful with every person he met.  He does need to gain a little weight.  Kane has been neutered and brought up to date on all vet care.  He just arrived at a temporary foster home, where he will be living with two other dogs.  We will update Kane's page once we learn more about him.  Apply today to adopt this handsome boy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
