3/03/14 Ginger
Lynn is doing very well in her foster home. She is currently living
with both male and female dogs, and has no issues whatsoever with any of
them. Ginger also does really well with cats. She has quickly learned her way through every room of my house
and has no problems with stairs (14 of them). She will follow my voice
and track me down.
Ginger Lynn is currently crated during the workday, but would much rather
be out to free roam so she could spend her days relaxing on the couch.
Ginger Lynn does not bark and has the sweetest disposition. She is a
total love bug and wants nothing more than to be near people. She has
been around my niece and nephew, and seems to adore children.
Ginger Lynn was recently seen by our Ophthalmologist and it was confirmed
that Ginger Lynn will not regain her vision back. It is possible that
Ginger Lynn lost her vision to a secondary infection that was left
untreated. She is now getting daily eye drops in both eyes and she
doesn't seem to be in any discomfort. I am very sad for her past, but
so thankful that AABR was able to step up and help this little girl.
Ginger Lynn is a gorgeous Boxer with some adorable markings, like her big
dot on her face! She has a lot to offer and is very treat motivated.
If you are looking for a young, pretty, easygoing boxer girl that loves to
lay in bed all day and will give lots of kisses, please apply today to adopt
Ginger Lynn!

Once she
was transported to our vet, we quickly discovered that Ginger was in quite a
bit of pain. She also had a significant amount of bleeding in her
eyes. Ginger was taken to an emergency ophthalmologist appointment,
where she was prescribed several drops to help with her symptoms.
Ginger's bloodwork leads us to believe that she is battling an infection.
She has started on antibiotics and we are hoping to see improvement soon.
Ginger will also get additional testing at our vet to try to give us more
information. Ginger is settling in well at her new foster home,
where she is living with several other boxers. We will update her page
soon with her progress!

Meet Ginger Lynn! This sweet girl was left overnight in a drop off
box at a high kill shelter with a note only giving her name and that she was
blind. The shelter immediately contacted rescue for help. Ginger
is estimated to be around 2-3 years of age. She was tested with other
dogs and did very well. Ginger sniffed the other dog and then just
walked away.
One of our volunteers went to meet Ginger yesterday and indicated that
she was an absolute doll! She is a little underweight. Our
volunteer could touch her all over and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
Ginger will be transported to our rescue vet today, where she will be spayed
and brought up to date on all vet care. We are in urgent need of a foster
home for this sweet girl! Once she has a foster placement, we will
schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist to learn more about her
eyes. For those who have never had the joy of working with a blind
dog, they adapt amazingly well to new environments. They can go up and
down stairs once they learn where they are at. If you can provide a foster
home for Ginger, please let us know! We are hoping to keep her out of
our boarding kennel and get her directly into a foster home from her vet
appointment this week. |
