Rodeo has been in his foster home for almost two weeks now.  He is a completely different dog from when he arrived!  Rodeo deserves a home where he has a fenced place to run, because he loves to do so!  He has learned how to play fetch now with a ball.  He LOVES belly rubs and will snuggle up to you once he is played out and fall into your lap for a good cuddle.  Rodeo also loves to give kisses!

Rodeo will now let you know when he has to go outside and he does great in the crate!  He still jumps when coming out of the crate or when he meets new people, as he has a hard time containing his excitement.  Rodeo is very motivated by treats and listens well.  He is much better on the leash with his harness and always lets his foster sister, Lola, take the lead.  Rodeo plays well with Lola - they wrestle and play tug of war until they both fall over.  He also listens to her when she corrects him.

Included are some new pictures.  It is easy to immediately fall in love with his adorable face!  Rodeo is such an amazing boy and will be a wonderful addition to somebody's family.

Rodeo arrived at his new foster home yesterday. He has met his foster sister, and is learning to respect her boundaries.  He is very sweet, but does need a lot of training with his commands, housebreaking, and leash manners.  Rodeo slept well in his crate and his foster mom is working with him so Rodeo can find the perfect forever home.  He would love to have a fenced yard to run and play in!  Rodeo really wants to cuddle and be by your side.  We will continue to update Rodeo's page with his progress.  Apply today for this adorable, energetic young boy!

2/01/14 -

Rodeo is an energetic boy who was found as a stray and is estimated to be around a year of age.  He did great with his dog test and was being kenneled at the shelter with another dog without any problems.  Rodeo is unknown with cats.  Because of his high energy level and need for training, Rodeo would do best in a home with older children.  He will need some work on his manners, but he is very treat motivated.  Rodeo is as wiggly as they come and his nub moves nonstop!  He is a tiny boy, weighing only 38 lbs - but he does need to gain a little weight.  If you are interested in fostering or adopting Rodeo, apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
