Coco is still looking for a new foster home.  She is a high energy girl who would benefit from a home with a fenced yard.  With proper leadership, Coco gets along well with other dogs.  She participates in doggy daycare without any problems when she is boarded.  If you can provide a foster or forever home for Coco, apply today!

Coco's current home indicates that she is a super affectionate and cuddly girl.  She loves curling up with her humans and gives lots of kisses.  Coco is very sweet and playful.  She began to take on the alpha role in her family and was demonstrating difficulties with the other dog in the home.  After working with a professional trainer to gain better control, Coco now gets along beautifully with the other dog.  She should be placed in a home with a strong leader and a submissive dog.  Coco does tend to lunge at smaller dogs when on leash.  When Coco is boarded, her owner reports that she participates in doggy daycare with no issues.  If you are interested in providing a forever home for this beautiful girl, apply today for Coco!

Coco is being returned to rescue because of difficulties with other dogs.  She is currently living with two children.  Coco is well trained and knows all of her commands.  She is crate trained and housebroken.  If you can provide a foster or forever home for Coco, apply today!

Coco is a very sweet boxer girl.  She loves to go on walks and enjoys playing with her squeaky toys.  Coco knows commands such as sit, paw, lay down, and even roll over.  She is always trying to get in her foster mom's lap.  Coco either sleeps in her dog bed or will sleep with the teenage daughter with her head on the pillow.  She is usually pretty mellow, but will box with her paws if you are playing with her.  She loves to jump up, so may be best in a home with older children.

Coco would benefit from an active male dog in her forever home.  She does fine in the crate when left alone for a few hours.  Coco continues to come out of her shell more with each day.  She is a wonderful girl with the most beautiful brown eyes that will melt your heart.

12/29/14

Coco has arrived at her new foster home and is settling in well.  Coco is housebroken and enjoys going on walks.  She would do best with an active family.  Coco loves her fenced yard and would benefit from having a big yard to run around in.  She is coming out of her shell more and more with each day and is a great boxer!

12/17/14 -

Coco is a 4 year old female boxer who was surrendered to the shelter by her owners because they indicated they didn't have enough time for her and that a dog was "too much work."  They had gotten Coco off of Craigslist only two weeks prior.  Coco has previously lived with other dogs and she is reported to be wonderful with children of all ages.

When she first arrived at the shelter, Coco was terrified.  Our volunteer that went to evaluate Coco indicated she was a very sweet girl.  Coco was quick to jump up and give kisses.  She play bows and is excited to be around other dogs.  Coco will be spayed this week and will then be looking for a foster or forever home.  If you are interested in Coco, apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
