Foxy is still looking for a new foster home!  If you can provide a quiet and structured environment for Foxy, please consider applying today.  She would be fine as an only dog, and can also acclimate with an easygoing male.

4/13/15

Foxy's current home has asked AABR to find her a new foster placement.  Foxy is in urgent need of a foster home so we do not have to board her in a kennel environment.  A forever home for Foxy would be even better so she does not have to acclimate to a new environment twice.  Foxy would do great as an only dog in the house, as she loves being the center of attention.  She can also get along with a submissive male dog if provided with slow introductions.  Foxy has great house manners and is very attached to the teenage girl in her current foster placement.  If you can provide a home for Foxy, please apply today!

3/17/15

Foxy is a fun loving boxer who wants to be with her people.  Every time she sees us, Foxy wags her backside and licks you like a typical boxer.  She has played alongside our five year old male boxer.  Foxy has also learned better manners on her walks.  We believe that Foxy would be best in a home with dog experience.  She loves people and wants to be the center of your attention.

2/21/15

Foxy is making wonderful progress with each week in foster.  She is much more relaxed overall.  Foxy enjoys playing with toys and although she can be pushy, Foxy is doing well with her foster brother.  She is learning what it is like to be a part of a loving family and would love to find a forever home of her own where she can continue to come out of her shell.

2/03/15

Foxy is settling in at her foster home and has recovered well from surgery.  She is working on learning how to share the attention with her foster brother.  Foxy would do best in a home with a submissive male or as an only dog.  Included are a few new pictures.

1/28/15

Foxy has arrived at her new foster home, where she is living with a male boxer.  She was very nervous at first, but is settling in more with each day.  Foxy follows her foster parents everywhere and is great with the teenage children in the home.

1/21/15

Foxy was very happy to get out of the shelter on Monday!  She traveled well during her transport.  Foxy was happy and relaxed for our volunteers and she had lots of nub wags.  Foxy was spayed yesterday and will be arriving soon at her new foster home, where she will be living with a male boxer.  We will update her page as soon as she gets settled in!

1/17/15 -

Foxy is 7 years old and was surrendered to the shelter when her owners moved.  The owner did not leave much information about her.  She was introduced to another dog and was very playful.  Foxy gave lots of play bows and was very excited to meet the other boxer.  She is strong on leash, so will need some work on her leash manners.  Foxy will be spayed early next week and brought up to date on all vet care.  Foxy will then be arriving at her new foster home.  We will post more information and pictures soon!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
