Kiki is being returned to rescue.  After 7 months in her new home, Kiki has not adjusted to the male owner.  We don't know Kiki's history, but she will need a patient home that can help her overcome whatever past abuse and neglect she suffered.  If you are interested in adopting Kiki, she needs a home that has a male dog and a securely fenced yard.

Kiki loves laying on the sofa now!  You can tell that Kiki had a rough life, but she is slowly starting to blossom.  Kiki is still very nervous, but will let you sit and pet her.  She would do best in a home with a male dog to help continue to build her confidence and a securely fenced yard.

3/28/15

Kiki has now been spayed and is settling in well at her new foster home.  She is going to blossom with some TLC.  We will continue to post updates about her progress.  If you are interested in providing a forever home for this beautiful girl, apply today!

3/11/15

Kiki went to her cardiology recheck visit yesterday.  We are very happy to report that the doctor's  prediction came true.  Kiki got a clean bill of health and we can now get her scheduled for her spay surgery.  After that, she will be ready to find her forever home.  Like all of our mill girls, Kiki is most comfortable with another dog in the house and a fenced yard will be required.  Apply today to adopt Kiki!

1/21/15

Kiki had her cardiologist appointment and we received some interesting news.  The doctor believes that the cause of her heart issues may be due to malnutrition.  She will be placed on high quality food, fish oil, and a few weeks of medication and then she will have a recheck.  Kiki just arrived at her new foster home and is settling in well.  More information will be posted as her foster home gets to know Kiki better.

1/13/15 -

Kiki was surrendered to AABR from a puppy mill.  She was living with her two adult daughters in a barn with an outside run attached.  Kiki is now safe with rescue.  She is getting along great with the other dogs in her temporary foster home.  Kiki will be spayed and brought up to date on all vet care later this week.  She will then need a foster home with a fenced yard and preferably another dog to help build her confidence.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
