3/28/15 The folks at AABR refer to me
as Myra, but I have many names at my foster home. I am called Bobby
Sox, Chubbly, Chubbs, Girl, and my favorite - "The Bibby or Bib." I am
a free spirit and would prefer not be crated or confined. This should
not worry you, though. I can and will respect your space and the
things in your space. I will not enter, sit, or touch that which is
forbidden to me. I like to commune with nature as much as possible, so
long walks and time in the backyard are necessities to my well-being.
I will patrol our domain and immediately alert you of visitors.
I am a very low maintenance girl and love people, both children and
adults. I enjoy the company of other dogs, but would be happy to fly
solo with you as well! You couldn't find an easier companion than
myself. Please come check me out!

Myra has arrived at her new
foster home and is settling in really well. Myra is getting along
great with her foster siblings. She would do best in a home with a
fenced yard, as she loves to be outside! Myra will patrol the yard and
then relax on the deck. She just had her sutures removed in her eye
and it has healed beautifully! Myra is very sweet and low maintenance.

Myra realizes she is safe now
and she loves to cuddle and give kisses! She has healed well following
her eye removal and her stitches come out next week. Myra has been in
a temporary foster home while waiting for her transport. They report she is housetrained and also
knows basic commands such as sit, no, etc. Myra has done well with
other dogs and cats. She has occasionally chased the cats, but has
never hurt them. Myra is going to make an awesome addition to a family
one day - they will be lucky to have her! She just arrived at her new
foster home in Maryland yesterday. We will update Myra's page as soon as
her foster home learns more about her!

Myra was a neighborhood stray in West Virginia who was often seen with a
male Beagle. Volunteers with One by One Animal Advocates found out
about Myra and rushed her to the vet. Her one eye had ruptured and we
don't know how long this poor girl suffered in terrible pain. The
primary person who was feeding Myra indicated he did not have the money to
take her to the vet.
The volunteers moved into action quickly and Myra was seen by a vet on
Monday. The vet that examined Myra indicated her eye needed to be
removed as soon as possible. This surgery was completed yesterday and
she is recovering well. The vet indicated that Myra is around 7 yrs of
age. She had been microchipped, but the number is now disconnected.
Myra will be recovering in a temporary foster home until her transport to
AABR next weekend. She will then be arriving at a foster home in
Maryland. Myra has had a rough past, but we will make sure her future
involves only the best care and a loving family to care for her. |
