9/08/15 Rocky (now known as Clyde) and
the pug in his current home are no longer getting along, so he is sadly
being returned to rescue. The family reports that the pug is almost
always the instigator, but Clyde is no longer tolerating his behavior and it
is not a safe environment for either dog.
Clyde's home can not say enough good things about him. He is very
playful and does enjoy playing with other dogs. Clyde's favorite
activity is jogging or hiking in the woods. He is quite nervous with
city sounds and would do best in a quieter, more relaxed environment.
Clyde has thrived on a venison diet and his coat has filled in nicely.
When he gets a few allergy bumps, a topical "mousse" will clear it right up.
Clyde travels well in the car and has gone on long road trips with his
family. If you can provide a forever home for Clyde, submit
your application today for this handsome boy!

Rocky is doing well in his
foster home. He is the sweetest boy and Rocky gets along great with
his two Pug siblings. We are still in the process of figuring out what
is going on with Rocky's skin. He has a skin infection at this time,
so is currently on antibiotics and steroids. We will be completing a
skin biopsy soon and will post an update as soon as we know more
information.

Rocky has been placed in a
temporary foster home while he waits for his transport to AABR. He is
a very petite boy and is doing great with the other dogs. Rocky
visited the vet today and was started on antibiotics for his skin infection.
He will be arriving at his new foster home soon, where he will be living
with two small breed dogs. Rocky will be placed on a grain free, high
quality diet and we are eager to monitor his progress. We will update
Rocky's page once he has arrived in Maryland and we learn more about him!

Rocky and Phoebe were surrendered to the shelter by their owner.
They were dehydrated, very thin, and had a significant amount of hair loss.
A skin scrape came back negative. The vet is suspecting a possible
grain or flea allergy. They will be started on a high protein, grain
free food to help their skin and to help them gain some much needed weight.
Both Rocky and Phoebe are super friendly and loving dogs. They are
reported to be housetrained, good with other dogs, and wonderful with
children. Rocky has already been neutered and he only weighs 34 lbs at
this time.
They will be going into a temporary foster home until their transport to
AABR in February. We would love to find them a foster or forever home
where they can remain together, but will consider separating them if they
are placed into a home with a resident dog of the opposite sex.
We will continue to update their page with their progress as they get the
care they need! |
