Zoey is continuing to do great in her foster home. I have not a single
complaint on this beautiful, blue eye girl. She has been a delight to
have around. Zoey continues to follow me wherever I go. If she
is asleep and realizes I have left, she will run to the window to see if my
car is still there. If it is, she will go from room to room to find me
and greet me with lots of wiggles. Zoey recently stayed with two
different families while her foster mom was out of town. Both families
commented about what a wonderful girl Zoey was with them and their resident
dogs.
Zoey saw our orthopedic vet last week to finally get her cast removed and
have her final X-rays. The vet indicated that she has healed well and
that her leg looks great! We are doing some at home physical therapy,
which includes short walks and me working with her leg to get the full
feeling back. Of course, her favorite part is the Kongs and bones -
those are great for her to hold her goodies while using her front paws.
Zoey is still looking for a forever home. I can't say enough about how
wonderful this girl is. She is a very special boxer and is sure to
make a family complete. While Zoey does love children, I think a home
without a lot of incoming and outgoing traffic would be best so she doesn't
get out the door. If you have a fenced yard and a male dog to help
guide her, apply today to adopt Zoey!

Zoey is
doing great in her foster home. She is living with three other boxers
and a couple of cats. Zoey is a very easygoing girl who loves toys,
food, and people. She even enjoys being around the cats! Zoey is
100% housebroken and crate trained. She loves to be wherever I go and
will follow me from room to room. However, Zoey has no issues being by
herself either.
Zoey is deaf, but please don't tell her that. She is a very smart
girl and has learned to sit, stay, and come. Zoey will take treats
very gently. She travels well in the car and from the little we have
been able to do, Zoey walks well on leash. She is one of the easiest
fosters I have taken in.
Zoey will be seeing our orthopedic vet tomorrow to determine the next
step in treating her leg injury. So far, this has not slowed her down
at all. We will post an update as soon as we know more.
Zoey would do best in a home that has a fenced yard and another dog to
play with. She loves meeting new people and has done great with
children. If you are looking for a very well behaved girl to make your
family complete, then please apply for Zoey!

Zoey arrived at the shelter from a local emergency clinic. She is
estimated to be around 4 years old. Zoey was turned into the emergency
clinic after being suspected of being hit by a car. It was discovered
that Zoey is deaf and that she had a broken ulna. Since the radius was
not broken also, the vet is hoping it will heal on its own with a splint.
The shelter believes that Zoey may have been kept outside. She has
been neglected, is a little underweight, and has fly strikes on her ears.
Zoey is great with all people and she loves other dogs. She doesn't
even seem to mind the shelter cat.
Zoey will be spayed this week and transported to her new foster home with
AABR. She has been staying in the office at the shelter due to a lack
of open kennels. She does not touch anything and appears to be
housebroken.
Once Zoey arrives at her foster home, we will have her evaluated by an
orthopedic surgeon to make sure she does not require surgery. We will
update Zoey's page once she arrives in rescue! |
