Caesar is an amazing little guy who just wants to please.  He is awesome with kids, big and small, although he does get excited and likes to play.  Even though he is a little guy, he may knock small kids over.  Caesar uses his voice a lot, but does listen well with correction.  He needs a home who can show him that he is safe and loved, but who is also willing to be consistent with training to help him be the best boy he can be.  Caesar is completely housebroken and does well in the crate.  He likes Kongs and is very treat motivated.  Caesar requires 2 small injections twice a day, which are literally nothing for him.  He sits nicely for them and doesn't move a muscle when given his shots.  Don't let them scare you!  His family will come along one day and they will be so lucky to have such a loving boy.  He really is the perfect example of the loyalty and loving companionship found in the boxer breed.

Caesar stayed at a volunteer's home over the weekend while his foster family was out of town.  She could not believe that this sweet boy did not have a home yet!  Caesar is smart and very eager to please.  He needs some work on his manners and likes to talk a lot, but will be a perfect boy with a little training.  Caesar is also wonderful with children!  When he was due for his shots, Caesar sat down and didn't move at all.  Apply today for Caesar!

Caesar has come a long way in foster!  He knows sit and has no problems with his crate.  Caesar loves to play with his foster sister.  He received a visit from our director last week, and was a very well behaved boy.  Apply today if you are interested in giving Caesar a forever home of his own!

Caesar is an 11 month old Boxer boy who really wants to please.  He knows his basic commands and loves to run and play with his foster sister, Molly.  Caesar requires 2 shots a day for Diabetes Insipidus and he does very well with them.  Caesar is an active boxer puppy who listens well.  He is not destructive and loves his crate and blanket.

8/31/15

Caesar has been dealt a rough hand in life.  His first home gave him up.  His second home brought him to a shelter because their resident dog didn't like him.  Caesar has now been diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus.  This type of Diabetes relates to water and requires a simple shot two times a day.  With those injections, Caesar can live a normal, healthy life.  The cost of the injections per month varies according to the drug industry.  Approximate costs for other boxers with this condition adopted through AABR range from $60-$100 every 6-8 weeks.  For more information, we have previous adopters on hand to discuss this condition with any interested, approved homes.  Please give this wonderful boy a chance.  He is great with children of all ages and also enjoys being around other dogs.

8/03/15 -

Caesar was surrendered to the shelter because the other dog in the home was too rough with him.  He is 10 months old and previously lived with two teenagers, ages 13 and 17.  Caesar just arrived at his new foster home, where he is living with a toddler and a boxer mix.  Caesar is a shy boy who would do best in a home with a confident female dog.  He will also need a home with a secure, fenced yard.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
