08/05/06 - In foster again-
Yeah! Please, we cannot express strongly enough our
urgent need for good foster homes, without foster homes we are so limited in
what we can achieve!!
Thank you Dawn and Jason for fostering King and providing such a
wonderful home for him until he and his new family find one another. Your
fostering him has allowed us to see his true personality and what a
phenomenal boy he is. He and I are both eternally grateful.
King has been in his foster home for three weeks and as you can see from
the new photos, he has made himself quite at home. He loves his people and
everyone he meets, he loves to play and will bring his toys to you to play
with him; he loves his daily walks and playing ball in the back yard, he
really loves his squeaky Cuz ball toy, it is his favorite toy, he carries it
in his mouth on his daily walks. King is a very happy boy and loves life.
He is totally house broken and can be trusted to have full run of the
house. We don’t know what happened to his family or the circumstances that
landed him in the shelter, but someone has spent a lot of time with this
boy, he knows his commands, he is obedient, he walks well on a leash,
well……..if you don’t count the times a bunny or squirrel crosses his path –
he sometimes forgets his leash manners then, but hey, we think he is so
perfect in every way, we can excuse that.
The sound of car keys gets his attention immediately, and don’t leave
your car door open unless you want him to go with you, he thinks an open car
door is an invitation to go for a ride. He loves to go! He tends to be a bit
of a bed hog but if you insist he sleep on a doggie bed on the floor, he
will reluctantly obey; however, he much prefers the middle of the bed. His
foster family says someone forgot to tell him he is 6 years old (his age is
an estimate), he has the energy and playfulness of a young one, with the
good manners of a more mature one. He is simply wonderful and everyone who
meets him love him. He has been fine with other dogs he has met, but cats
are a no-no. Are you the lucky family King is waiting for?

King
has been sitting in a kennel for 19 days, this is truly killing me. I don't
know what else to do for him - I so desperately want to find him a great
home - He has such a great temperament and is a handsome boy, I absolutely
can not understand why he hasn't found his forever home yet!

King
Kameamea has been in a foster home for a little over a week and he has
settled in very nicely. He is quite lovable, friendly and intelligent. He is
totally house broken, sleeps in his crate with the crate door open, walks
well on a leash and is quick to learn a routine. King is energetic and
enthusiastic about playing. He loves his walks but would prefer a home with
a fenced yard. He is all wiggles when he meets anyone new and he loves
everyone he meets, with the exception of the cats. He will need to go to a
home with no cats. There are no other dogs in the foster home, so we do not
have a true sense of how he will be with other dogs. He knows sit, paw, down
and stop/wait. He waits at the door to be let outside. We have his age
listed as 6, his foster Mom says he plays like a puppy, so I would like to
impress that he a “young 6”. His true personality is starting to shine
through and he is even more wonderful than we imagined when we first met
him. King has good manners, a sweet temperament and is a very easy dog; what
more could anyone possibly ask for?

King
Kameamea is a wonderful, happy, sweet boy who no one claimed when he
was picked up as a stray and brought to the local shelter. Fortunately
for him, it does not seem to have fazed him one bit. This guy has one of
the biggest Boxer smiles I have ever seen! He does have a bit
of gray on his muzzle, we estimate him to be approximately 6 years old. He
appears to be in very good condition/health and obviously was not a stray
for very long. At this point we do not know how he will
be with other dogs or with cats. He is looking for a
home fit for a king (hence the name – King Kameamea),
one who will love him and care for him and always be there for him and in
return, he will give you his all.
We will have updates on him shortly. |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
