09/11/06 - Tyson came to my home on 8/25/06. He is very
sweet, innocent, playful, full of boxer wiggles, and kisses. Although he is
6, he does have the energy, and exuberance of a younger boxer. The scar on
his leg is from a break, but he walks/runs perfectly.
Ty is excellent in his crate, very quiet, and patient, and likes to play
with his toys. He is very good out of the crate inside as well. He
entertains himself nicely, but loves, and appreciates a good, long game of
fetch, and retrieves his ball right to you.
He loves to be with people, and kids, and will sit at your side all day.
He could use some work on his leash manners (at times), can sit, give paw
and speak. He is very smart, so he will pick up on new commands very
quickly, as he learns the names of his new toys within hours.
With a little patience, and a lot of lovin' Tyson will be the best boxer
you can get. Tyson deserves to have a fun, loving home, and I know he will
be your loyal friend forever. Please consider giving this boy a stable
family life again.
Ty has allergies to wheat and corn, and should not have food products
containing red dye. He is taking an antibiotic for what the Vet saw as a
yeast infection on his paws, and ear drops due to the same, but everything
is clearing up nicely. I was told that his skin allergies may be treatable
with Benadryl, but the Vet didn't confirm this.
06/ /06 - Meet Tyson. This big beautiful boy was dropped off
at my door yesterday by a sobbing woman who was forced to give him up. She's
getting divorced, she and her 3 kids live in an apartment with a no pets
clause and her husband who has a house and yard down the street from me
doesn't want him any more. For 6 months she's tried to find another place to
live so she could keep him but she just can't afford to move and hubby won't
pay. So she and her kids had to make the painful decision to place Tyson in
rescue.
He's been in my apartment 24 hours and is an angel. He doesn't touch a
thing in the house when he's alone and he's full of love and goofiness! When
I came home tonight he presented me with a jumping spinning twirling wiggle
for 10 minutes. He and my son played last night then fell asleep together on
my son's bed. This is a very very good boy. He's never been around any other
animals of any kind so we don't know how he is with them but he's very
confused by the cats here. He's 6 but looks and acts like he's 4. And will
play ball forever!!! He's a very very very good boy. All he needs is a new
home and family. If I could keep another dog, this boy would be home
already. Really. |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
