Update - Brandene (as we call her) is a very special dog. She has a heart of gold when she looks at you with those big brown eyes. She has spunk and nothing seems to get to her, she is so loveable.

When we get Brandene’s leash out to go for a walk she hops around because she is so excited to go out. She has a great swagger when she walks. She is an excellent dog to walk. She never tugs at the leash, never bites the leash, she just enjoys her walks. I don’t think her previous owners played with her much at all because she really doesn’t know how to play with a ball or Frisbee. She just wants you to be excited with her and jump around.

Brandene needs a home with love….you could give her all the love in the world and she would give you even more. When my husband leaves for work in the morning she does a mournful howl (not loud but I can hear it) to let everyone know how much she misses him. Brandene has really grown on our family and we will be sad to see her go to her forever home. If you would meet Brandene you would see what a wonderful girl she is.

8/15/06 - Brandy

Brandy is so cute. She is wondering why she did not get invited along when her whole family moved away. On the way to the new home they dropped Brandy off at the kill shelter and off they went. Brandy lived with children and a cat. She is housebroken and is a good girl on the leash. She needs to get out of the kennel and into a home so she can settle down. The noise of the kennel scares her.

When I took her for a walk she just pranced like a show horse! She was so happy and then I had to take her back to the kennel. She looked at me with the saddest eyes and I cried the whole way home. She does not understand why I left her but I have no more room at my house. It is full with Boxers, 3 of my own and my other two fosters. PLEASE read this and decide to foster a dog in the kennel. It is the MOST rewarding thing you can do for yourself and for your foster dog. Yes, it is hard to let them go but at least you know they are going to a loving home that WANTS them. One thing you can also be sure of...there is another Boxer waiting for you to help them. The line is long and never ending for the poor dogs that have been left homeless by some heartless humans.

Please choose to foster and save a life. Will you save Brandy?

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.  

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.  

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.
