02/02/07 Update
- Barkley is back in a foster home and adjusting well. He has been with us
for a few days. Barkley has been very gentle with both of our cats and he is
getting along well with our dogs. He goes right into his crate when we leave
for work. Barkley has not had any accidents in the house. He is a very sweet
boy who adores attention from people. He loves to run in our back yard, but
he also has been very relaxed inside and enjoys napping in his dog bed. We
will update again as soon as we learn more about him.
Barkley has been through a lot of change and deserves a loving, forever
home.

Barkley
is cuter than cute – even more so than his photo shows. He is a happy guy
with lots of energy and spirit. He is looking for a new home of his own. He
was recently adopted but unfortunately, his energy was a bit more than his
new family was expecting, and now he is sitting in a kennel, waiting for his
forever home or another great foster home to rescue him. A kennel is no
place for a puppy with all his energy to have to spend his days, he needs to
be in a home environment where he can do what he loves most, play, play,
play. Barkley will do best with an active family and a fenced back yard. He
is an exuberant puppy; he loves going for walks, riding in the car, and
playing, playing, playing. His previous foster home took him to classes, has
socialized him and has him well on his way to being a well behaved young boy
and he now needs a family who understands the time and commitment a puppy
requires, and will continue what they have started. If you are looking for a
couch potato, Barkley definitely is not the dog for you, but if you are
looking for a lively young boy to run and play with another dog or your
children, Barkley may just be the one you have been looking for. Be prepared
to have your heart melt when you meet this love of boy, if his cute, cute
face doesn’t get ya, his bubbly personality will. Thank you for your
interest in Barkley.

Barkley
is doing quite well. He has gotten over his doggie cold and is growing fast.
He loves playing ball and tug a war with his older foster (dog) sister. He's
full of energy and loves attention. He's very protective and loving with me
and is eager to please. I am hoping to have him enrolled in training classes
soon. He'll make someone a wonderful first dog or a great addition to an
existing dog home with the right match.

Barkley
is a very energetic young puppy. He loves running around outside with us and
chasing/playing with our 1 year old dog. He is such a great puppy. Hopefully
a home will come soon or he will just have to stay here!!

Little Barkley is a 4 month old puppy that was found as a stray. He is a
happy, bouncy pup with lots of energy. Barkley will need a home with lots of
love and one that can give him the care and exercise a pup needs. He will
need house training and obedience training so that he can grow in to a
wonderful companion!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
