01/12/06 Update
- Jesse lost her foster home through no fault of her own. There was no space
in our kennel until January 16th and so I was making some other arrangements
for boarding Jesse when my boss said he would foster her until the 16th. My
boss says she is a phenomenal dog. Although we first said "no cats" with
Jesse, with proper introduction, cats may be fine. My boss' cat and Jesse
are doing much better together. If you have any interest in Jesse, please
let us know.
She will NOT do well in a kennel as she wants to be with her "people". So
we would like her to go to her forever home soon!

We took Jesse in, past history unknown, and were pleasantly surprised.
Hi, this is Jesse's Foster Mom. We were going to make her our forever
companion but she is just too much for our small grandson. I attribute this
to her not having a fenced yard to get her energy out...she is free to roam
our entire house, but she has so much energy to let loose. So, no little
ones and a fenced yard would be perfect. Jesse will bark if someone enters
the yard (UPS loves her), whine when she has to go out, sit for a treat and
to get her leash on/off. She is very much crate trained, which I, myself,
don't like. But when our little one comes over, Jesse willingly goes into
her crate with her hollow "bone" filled with peanut butter and her favorite
green squeaky, and just be so happy and content.
Jesse needs a FOREVER HOME, Someone help, please. She's the
sweetest!!!

Update
- Jesse's foster mom and dad need to find another home for her as she is too
exuberant for their 2 year old grandson. They are very sad. It is imperative
we find another foster home for Jesse SOON as she will have to go to a
kennel in the meantime and it will be difficult for her after being in a
nice home. Please open your heart to this sweet girl. Here are new pictures
to show you how pretty she is. Jesse has a natural tail that is very cute --
it looks like she used the tip of her tail to paint a white picket fence!
11/5/06 - Jesse
Jesse came to AABR as a stray from a York County, PA
Shelter. She was to be euthanized the day we got her and that same day she
found her foster home. Right away she took to her new home and her foster
mom says "I have nothing bad to say about her." Jesse was certainly
someone's pet at one time as she knows some basic commands and loves to
"sit" for a treat. Jesse is housebroken and walks well on a leash. She wants
to chase the neighborhood cats, so a home without cats is a must. She is
great in the house and doesn't touch anything she is not allowed to.
According to Jesse's foster mom, she is "very smart." |

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
