Update -Rudy Tootie Fresh and Fruity!...Rudy is doing great! He has a slight limp from his injury, but can fly like the wind when he runs.  He no longer hides food, he knows it will always be there. I can leave him loose in the house for hours while we are gone, and he is perfect.

He is a happy boy that jumps and spins with glee when he sees you. His coat is silky soft to touch. He still needs a few more pounds, but he looks and feels great now. He is such a Lovebug.

Rudy has been with us one week now, and what a sweet baby! He is gold as gold. Comes when called, totally housebroken, and loveable as can be. He is eating well and putting on weight. His hip seems to be healing slowly but surely. Even though he has obviously been without food for quite sometime, he takes treats from your hand ever so gently. I have watched him hide every rawhide bone in our house. He takes his nose and gently buries them in his blankets. I have also seen him cover his food bowl ( when he doesn't eat it all) with a blanket. It brings tears to my eyes. Obviously from going hungry for so long. Poor Rudy. He is such a good boy. What is wrong with some people? Whoever adopts this boy is getting a treasure.

11/5/06 - Rudy

Poor Rudy was found curled up sleeping on someone's porch in the city. Rudy is so thin. He must have been without a home to feed and love him for a long time. While he was homeless he was hit by a car. Rudy has a break in his pelvis. His x-rays are being looked at by an orthopedic specialist this week. We will then know if this type of fracture will require surgery or it will heal perfectly on it's own.
Rudy will be available for adoption as soon as he gets a clean bill health. We will post an update and post it as soon as he sees a specialist.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
