03/12/07 - Gizmo
is just the best dog ever says his new foster home. There is only one
problem. There is a lot of work to do with his feeling on the cats. The
family that has Gizmo cannot say enough good things about him. Its obvious
he has never been around the cats and its a huge adjustment. Hopefully
things will work out. We will keep the site posted. Gizmo is good with the
horses and is very well behaved in every way.

Gizmo
is feeling MUCH better after a bout with Kennel cough. Today was the first
real day that he has again been with the ladies, and all is well. He is
playing with Doodle and spending time sleeping against Missie....
He seems to be no worse for the wear and doesn't seem to have lost much
weight. His appetite is back and he's again eating his food with gusto....he
get's 4 cups over two feedings and some canned food or goodies mixed in....
I hope these pictures give people a good idea of how well he does with
big girl dogs, lol...He really LOVES kids and mostly all people....I haven't
found him to be at all picky in terms of who he loves...as long as someone
is petting him...he is a happy camper....
His leash manners are excellent now and he let's you now when he needs to
go out.

Update
-Just wanted to post an update on Gizmo....he's been here for 4 days now,
and I have to say, he's been very, very sweet and a very good boy. He is
completely housebroken and has kept both his crate and the house clean. He
let's us know when he needs to go out, and "goes" as soon as he is taken
out.
Gizmo, has attached himself to our 12 year old son... He is also great
with our other three kids (ages 17, 14 and 10). He is eating well and
sleeping well. Gizmo also met three of our resident dogs (Great Danes-all
female) and there was was very little reaction when introductions were made.
Currently as I type this, he is sleeping side by side under my feet, with my
2 year old Great Dane girl. He is learning leash manners very quickly and
will walk nicely with us, on lead.
Gizmo is really a very sweet dog....we're thrilled we are able to foster
him until his forever home is found.

Gizmo was surrendered by his owner because he and the other "boy" dog in
the house started to not get along. Both dogs were not neutered!
When he came, he was extremely frightened and would run if anyone looked
at him. Since then, he has warmed up and approaches to be petted. He's on
the thin side, but eating well and will be all filled out shortly. He was
just neutered, and recovering from the surgery.
I think he's a cutie and will make someone a wonderful friend. |
