Update -Wonderful News!!! Last Saturday Niko moved into his forever home. He
has been adopted by a lovely family with 2 kids and a terrific mom and dad.
They say that he is adapting well to his new life, and happily alternates
his sleeping arrangements each night between the 2 kids. I could not be
happier that he has found such a great family to love. My love to all of
them for making a place in their hearts for this exceptionally wonderful
dog.

What a
Superstar our Niko was at last Saturdays Adoption Day at Petsmart. He had a
great time meeting and greeting all of the nice people and pets that stopped
to say hello. His tail was wagging nonstop, and he generously doled out
sloppy kisses, and warm hugs to all who would accept them. This boy is just
the greatest. All who spent time with him said the same thing, "what a
gentle giant he is". I suggest you all hurry and get your applications in
for this special boy. He'll be gone before you know it, and you'll be sorry
you missed out on making him a special member of your family.

Update
-We recently added another puppy to our foster family. "Eve"
joined us New Years weekend, and Niko is completely taken with her. He is
always nuzzling her, and plays very gently when she swats him in the head,
or chews on his ear. He's her personal gentle giant. He is always aware of
where she is so he doesn't accidentally step on her. They are adorable
together.
You couldn't ask for a better babysitter. Turns out he is a great "alert"
dog. He patrols the perimeter of our little yard for intruders daily,
and lets everyone know he is there on duty with a hearty "woof".
Niko is just the most wonderful, loving boy, and quite the snuggler.
Please make Niko a part of your family. You'll be so glad that you did!!

Niko
came to join our foster family last week, and what a wonderful dog he has
turned out to be. Within 15 minutes of his arrival he had met everyone, and
made himself at home by staking out his portion of the couch. He has settled
into our routine very easily, and seems incredibly easy going. He is
completely housetrained, and is very gentle despite his slightly larger than
usual size. He has the sweetest disposition, and is a total love bug. He
follows me around the house, and no matter where I am he plops himself down
on the floor like a sack of potatoes and waits for our next move. He gets
along beautifully with everyone, including the cat, whom he seems to
basically disregard, and the cat likes it that way. This is just one great
dog. I can't get over how easy he is. He listens well, and minds his
manners. I can leave him loose in the house with no worries. He could fit in
anywhere!!!

It was one of the saddest OWNER SURRENDERS we have had. NIKO and Zappa
were "gotten rid of" because the owners did not want them anymore. Well,
that is not totally true now that I type this. As the mother took the dogs
out of the car and dropped them off the children in the car covered their
faces crying uncontrollably. It was the saddest thing to see a child's dog
being taken away from them. They obviously loved their dogs and did not want
then to be disposed of like this! The mother put the icing on the cake when
she asked for someone to lie to her children and tell them they were on
their way to a home. Well, that was NEVER going to happen and she will have
to face her children herself!
NIKO is part mastiff looking! What a beautiful combo! NIKO is a big lover
who loves to snuggle and play! Typical little boy. He is a loving, playful
boy who really needs someone to take him in and take him on nice long walks
or play ball. He is a very good boy looking for a home that will love him
for good! Will it be yours? PLEASE offer to foster NIKO and or Zappa as they
are so scared and confused in the kennel.
Would you like to adopt a pair of wonderful loving dogs!??? Please Please
help us get them out of the kennel and into a loving home for the holidays! |
