9/24/09 - MEMORIAL
Our hearts are saddened by the loss of a sweet boxer girl. Our precious Mya
passed quietly and peacefully in her sleep. Mya’s last few years on this
earth were spent with a wonderful, devoted family who filled her life with
love and happiness. Mya was the queen of her castle and everyone who
met Mya loved her, and she loved everyone. Her Mom and her family, as well
as her little Puggle buddy, miss her terribly.
You will remain in our hearts
forever, sweet Mya. Godspeed - until we meet again!

What a
love Mya is; this little girl has a wonderfully sweet disposition. She loves
giving kisses and is the happiest when she is around her people. We feel she
has at one time been someone’s loved companion. She knows basic commands,
sit, stay, shake etc. She has done well, both in and out of the crate, since
she has been here. Within half hour of being in our home, she and our male
Boxer were snuggling with each other. She has been very good with our young
daughter. She loves to sleep on the bed with our other boxer and they have
curled around each other these past couple of nights. She walks quite well
on a leash and will benefit from regular walks.
Mya loves toys!!!! She immediately took to the hedgehog and duck we have
here. She LOVES treats and is very food motivated. Mya is a happy,
magnificent girl with tons and tons of love to give and all she wants in
life is to have a wonderful family of her own who will bestow just as much
love and attention on her. That certainly is not too much for her to ask
for!!

Abuse
case - Animal Control picked her up from her back yard. Possible prosecution
pending.
Update - Mya is a remarkable little girl. She is doing fabulously and
totally enjoying her “resort vacation” at the vet’s office. Mya has never
had it so good; she is soaking up all the love, attention, good meals and
lots of extra treats and is lovin’ life! She has gained weight and looks
wonderful.
She is such a happy girl and the vet and his staff all rave about what a
sweetheart she is. Mya was taken from her home by an Animal Control officer
because of her neglect and abuse. It is unclear how her ears were so badly
mutilated, other than it was done by another dog. She was tied out in the
back yard in close proximity to another dog and it is not known if their
chains got tangled and out of frustration, the other dog attacked her, or if
these injuries were caused by another dog. In any event, Mya’s one ear has
been surgically removed and her other ear was repaired and both are healing
very nicely.
Mya loves people and will thrive in a home where she will get all the
love she deserves. We do not know if she has lived with children so will not
want to place her in a home with small children.
The vet’s office reports Mya appears to be good with the resident cat and
with other dogs.
Dr. Molesworth has said that whoever adopts Mya will be very happy
with her; she is such a nice girl and has a great temperament. She is a
healthy girl now and all she needs is a wonderful family of her own to love.
Thank you for your interest in Mya.
1/31/07 - Meet Mya
What a
sweetheart she is even in her condition.
She was
ready to leave the shelter vet and eagerly jumped in my truck and curled up
on the seat. Once we got onto the beltline she laid her head on my lap and
seemed to breathe a little easier. She did manage to get herself into a
full curl and laid there until we got to the rescue vet. I wrapped her in
the sheet she had been laying on in the truck and carried her into the vet.
At the vet she was greeted by all sorts of people and she let them pet her
and even took treats.
We
named her Mya because of a dog in a movie that was hurt and she had a strong
will to live so hopefully this Mya will too.
We need your help wth her medical bills...
