09/04/07 Update
- Oscar just loves routine. He has ours down pat. We all wake up
together every morning around 6:30am to go potty and then eat breakfast.
Then about 20 minutes later we all go outside again to potty once more and a
few minutes of wrestling with his foster sister before it's back to bed for
the dogs when mom goes to work. Oscar sleeps most of the morning and then
goes outside and plays around lunch time.
Playing fetch is his favorite! He usually then eats a bone and sleeps
more until about 4:30 when it's back outside for a walk and more play time!
If Oscar exercised a lot then he will eat again around 7pm. Back outside
at 9pm and then again at 11pm- then it's time for bed. Oscar is a dog that
thrives on routine and structure each and every day. If you to thrive on
routine and can provide this for this great dog, please fill out the AABR
application, and tell us that Oscar is the one for you!

Update
- Oscar is growing into a more wonderful, obedient boy every day. He wakes
up each morning ready to meet the world head-on. Taking a walk, eating and
then playing are his major joys in life. He's a very happy-go-lucky boxer
boy that would do well in just about any home. Since he's so darn cute it
can be hard to enforce rules without cracking a smile or laughing a bit!!
But since Oscar is still learning how to be a polite boy it is necessary
that his fur-ever home continue with his "education" as we have done. This
means following the
Nothing In Life Is Free (NILIF)
program and supervising Oscar at all times when in the home and outside.
With consistency he will be the PERFECT dog very soon. Fill out that
application for him today!

Update
- Oscar was a hit at the adoption day at Spot's in Narberth, PA. He met many
boxer lovers and many other dogs and had a blast making new friends. He did
especially well with small children- at one point he had 3 little girls
surrounding him on the ground and he just laid there while they pet him all
over! He would love a family with kids and another dog- but because he was a
stray, we will be looking for a home with older kids.
This boy would fit in anywhere as long as he is loved. Oscar has no
behavioral issues and is just waiting for a family as wonderful as he is to
scoop him up! Be the lucky person to take Oscar home!

Update - I brought Oscar into my home last night and he has been great. He
really likes my female boxer and is very interested in the cats. He listens
quite well and does not mouth or chew anything inappropriate. He's very
affectionate and playful. This boy requires at least one long walk every day
and a nice yard to romp around in to get his energy out. That way he's nice
and calm in the house. Oscar is in "boot camp" right now, meaning his every
move is being controlled by the humans in the house so he understands
quickly who is boss and what is appropriate behavior. It seems to me no one
ever gave Oscar boundaries and rules, but he seems to like the structure and
rules. He is an easy student! He will make a great dog for just about
anyone, as long as you like to walk and play as much as he does!

Oscar is
still waiting for a loving home to call his own. He continues to be a good
boy at the kennel. Lori had him out on a walk with her female, he was very
excited but calmed down quickly and they went on a nice walk together. If
your looking for a fun loving boy that would like nothing more than to be by
your side, Oscars the one for you. please won't you consider fostering or
adopting this handsome boy?
3/12/07 -
Meet Oscar - He was picked up as a stray.
Oscar is a sweet bundle of joy. He is a young boy who would love nothing
more than a loving family to play, play, play with! He knows some basic
commands and walks well on a leash. The transporter who picked him up
commented on what a nice dog he is and our volunteer Lori, who goes to the
kennel to walk and play with him say's he is a real sweetie pie.
We will update more on Oscar as soon as we can. Won't you please open up
your home to this handsome boy and give him the love and affection he
deserves? |
