4/22/11 It has been almost a year
since Shiloh's owner asked us for help in finding a new foster or forever
home. Poor Shiloh is currently kept in the mud room for up to 14 hours a
day, due to a divorce situation and longer work hours. Her current home has
done everything they can to keep her out of a kennel environment. Shiloh
needs your help - please offer to provide a foster home for her!
3/12/11
One of our volunteers went to
meet Shiloh last week. She indicated that Shiloh is a very sweet and loving
girl - it only took a few scraps of cheese to let her know she was a friend.
From there on out, she was great with her. Shiloh is still being kept in the
mud room at her current home for very long periods during the day. She is in
a townhouse without a fence and would really benefit from having a fenced
yard to run and play in. Shiloh would do best in a quiet environment.
We have been trying to find Shiloh a foster home since July, but have not
received any offers for her. If you can help Shiloh, please apply today!

Shiloh's family can not keep
her any longer and are really hoping she will be able to find a foster home
(or even better, a forever home). Once she trusts you, Shiloh is a very
loving dog. She enjoys spending time with her humans and she thinks she is a
lap dog. She does need to be introduced to new people one at a time and in a
manner that is non-threatening. She will then easily warm up to them. Shiloh
is looking for a home where somebody can be with her often and hopefully
with another dog to play with. Apply today if you can foster Shiloh, or are
interested in adopting her!
7/8/10
Due to a change in family
situation and work hours, Shiloh (previously known as Lucie) is spending 14
hours/day alone at home. Her owner is returning her to rescue to find a home
that can provide more time and attention for her. Shiloh is now 5-6 years old.
She is very shy with new people at first, but once she trusts you - she is
the sweetest girl. Because of her fearful disposition, we are recommending a
home without children and a low-key, quiet environment. Shiloh loves other
dogs and is more confident when she is around them. We would love to place
Shiloh in a home with a male dog. Shiloh needs a home with an
experienced boxer owner and somebody willing to work through her fearful
behavior with new people. If you are interested in adopting Shiloh,
submit an application today for this beautiful girl!

- Lucie
Lucie is a sweetheart of a girl who has been at the
shelter since mid May. She was picked up by animal control when a neighbor
phoned in a neglect complaint. Lucie was tied out in the back yard on a 15
foot cable. She was very emaciated. Since that time, the shelter staff have
been caring for Lucie and getting her weight back on. She is now looking
good; a very cute fawn girl with beautiful markings, natural ears and a
docked tail. She is very, very friendly with both humans and other dogs. She
pulls a bit on the leash, but with a little work she will do fine. She
responds to her name and ate up every drop of attention she could get. She
rode in the car extremely well and overall is a great Boxer girl! The
shelter staff said she has improved by leaps and bounds since coming to them
back in May. Lucie will make a wonderful addition to some very lucky family.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
