11/23/07 Chauncey gets to be a better
and more polite dog with each passing day. He is getting along MUCH better
with the cats. He only wants to play but is just way too rough for their
liking. We found that he likes all other dogs and has a special interest in
small breeds. But again, he's big and doesn't realize his strength and paw
size so he'd do best in a home with larger breed dogs. He listens very well-
he's knows "sit", "down", "leave it", "heel" and we are continuing to work
on "come" and "stay". He shares his toys, bones and food with our boxer and
us and just lives for belly rubs, cuddling and kisses. He's a large dog but
thinks he's small! He likes to lay on me on the couch and will start snoring
in 30 seconds flat! Chauncey is so sweet and lovable and he's a pretty
sensitive guy as well.

Update - Dozer (we have been
calling him Chauncey) is just such a mountain of fun. He absolutely loves
life! He is perfectly crate trained- when he is let out of the crate in the
morning he is just so elated to see me and get a kiss. He's eating a lot and
has gained almost 5 lbs. since he's been with us. He loves going for walks,
eating bones and getting his belly rubbed. He's a goofy boy who loves a good
game of keep-away and seems to have fun wherever he goes. He was a ghost in
a Halloween parade recently and everyone couldn't resist coming over to pet
him. He gets along great with other dogs and people and would easily fit
into any home.

Update - Well after only one
day at my house Dozer is fitting right in! He gets along great with my
female boxer! I was told he may not be great with other males. Maybe once
some of those hormones go away after being neutered he'll love them as well!
This boy is going to be about 70-80 lbs I approximate- but now he's barely
60lbs. So thin and malnourished. We are feeding him high quality food 3
times daily to beef him up! He loves treats and takes them so nicely - he
gives great kisses as well.
He is WONDERFUL in the crate- and doesn't make one peep once inside. He
likes chewing on bones and plays keep-away with the rope toy. He is well
mannered and takes direction very well. He is very interested in my cats and
at this point he should go to a home without them

If you want the most unique looking dog in your neighborhood then fill
out that application for Dozer! He is just stunning- such unique markings
and an adorable face to go along with the body! He's tall and will most
likely be quite a larger boxer boy, but right now he's thin and active and
needs some good meals and a nice big yard to romp and play in.
He's so smart so training would be a snap with Dozer. He's also so
affectionate and sweet- he loves giving kisses. He met Pearl, another dog
for adoption, through a fence and was very interested in meeting her
further. From what I witnessed he liked her and she liked him!
Once Dozer is in foster care we'll tell you all about him. You will fall
in love once you meet him- open your home to this wonderfully handsome boxer
boy today! |
