4/2/09 Hazel is back in rescue
Poor Hazel, she is looking for another home. Her owner has lost his job
and will be traveling a lot in order to find work. Hazel's next home MUST
MUST be her forever home!!!
06/07/08 -
HAZEL'S
HOME SAFE!!!!!
She was found in the trap this afternoon around 5:00. I think she just
ran out of steam.
A big fat thank you to all those who helped in the search and rescue
effort, but we want to single out the following people for their tireless
and selfless efforts over the last six days:
Brian Kinsella - her adoptive home
Keith Smith - helped to coordinate the efforts
Penelope Youngs and Derek Delisio - Penelope was out there every single
day
Penelope's entire family and friends joined in the effort as well,
passing out flyers and searching
Marlie Lawton - took time before, during and after work to search, and
ultimately found Hazel in the trap
Central NY Greyhound Walking Club - donated a trap and gave pointers
for the effort
All local animal control officers
All others who helped spread the word, pass out flyers, went door to
door, etc.
Without the generous and caring help and support of all these people,
Hazel may not have been found.
I think we can all sleep a little better tonight knowing Hazel is safe,
warm and loved!

03/05/08 -
Hazel was spotted twice today near the old railroad tracks and the old
Solvay dump. She has been staying near wooded areas. Our rescuers are always
one step behind her. If anyone spots her, please call Brian at (315)
440-9631.
03/04/08 - Update - Hazel has been spotted!
Hazel has been seen running back and forth
on a big hill near the corner of Milton Ave. and Stanton Ave. but will not
let anyone get close to her right now. If you live in the area, please keep
your eyes out for her.
03/03/08 - Still Missing!!!
Barkley and I just
returned from
Syracuse. No luck, no leads, but
we covered a lot of ground. My mom, dad, and 2 friends went, all
separately; we all talked to people on the street, went into businesses,
walked through parking lots, apartment buildings, etc. Brian has posters
all over the place; we have calls into the radio stations and tv stations.
I have two friends who are the heads of transportation for two different bus
garages ~ they are contacting the bus garages all over
Syracuse and asking for the
drivers to be on the lookout. We’re also calling the schools in the area
tomorrow and asking that they make an announcement to students to please
keep their eyes open.
Between the six of us I
imagine we had to talk to hundreds of people. It seems strange to me that
nobody saw here ~ I am praying that she is with somebody who is taking care
of her but isn’t sure what to do on a Sunday. Hoping that Monday morning
brings good news.
Please let me know if you think of anything else that we can do…
03/01/08 - Hazel
was last seen near Center Street in Solvay New York, at 7:30PM on March 1st,
2008.
She is wearing a pink collar and has an AABR tag on with
our 800 toll free number on it.
If you live in the area and are able to spend some time
looking for her, we would appreciate it. Solvay NY is near Syracuse
NY. It was 20 degrees there last night.
The best way to catch her is to open a car door and ask
her to go for a ride. If you catch her, or even just spot her, please
call Brian at 315 440 9631 and/or our toll free number: 877 570 0360 (Toll
free number takes messages only, but we will monitor it often until we find
Hazel)

Hazel is looking for a new home because her current
owners do not have time to spend with her and have two small dogs (one
puppy). She would do better in a home with another Boxer or larger dogs and
someone who understands how a Boxer plays. Hazel needs a lot of exercise not
only physically but mentally. She knows some basic commands and enjoys
working for her owner. She has lived with children over 10 and is in good
health, spayed and up to date on all shots.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the
information on our
Adoption Procedures,
then fill out an
online application.
Boxers and Applicants
are not matched on a first come, first served basis.
Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes
between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an
approved applicant, depending
on your personal circumstances and flexibility.
Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review
time and adoption time.
And yes, we
realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted
before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready
found their forever home, we want you to advise
us as to other dogs you are interested in at
Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com . Or let
us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.
That is what we are good at. And be happy for the
ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many
fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful
Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a
Boxer.
We hope you feel that
the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
